Fascinating and ancient building. Fantastic free concert.
Aug 2019
Attended a free concert of the string quartet festival. standing room only and of an extremely high standard.
An inspiring building, expecially the 1000+ year old pulpit. One can't help but wonder what words were proclaimed from it. How many lives were transformed byhearing gospel truth proclaimed from that pulpit?

Ancient church with Ties to ?
May 2019 • Couples
So much history! Unique church with mystical past. Worth a visit based on how unique it is! Dates back to before Charlemagne! If you watch Ancient Alien Civilizations or like the Knights of the Templar, come here!

Visiting this church was just a tiny part of the 2 weeks in Italy - it was an amazing trip. We especially enjoyed meeting the locals on Loro Ciuffenna - they were all so kind.

Beautiful Romanic Church
Mar 2019 • Friends
This parish church was built in XII century and has been declared national monument.
It is a wonderful romanic church, very simple and linear, with small alabaster windows.
Built in gray stones, look at columns inside, all different each other.
The inside atmosphere is special
About half an hour from Arezzo, is in the village of Loro Ciuffenna, very nice small village

Veramente bella
Jul 2018 • Couples
The church of Groppina is one of a series of Romanesque churches along the ancient Roman road above the Valley of the Arno. The biggest, including a museum built around the first known masterpiece of Masaccio, is in Cascia-Reggello, and the last is this one in Groppina, just outside of Loro Ciuffenna. It is a real gem set in the countryside, ready to take one back in time and induce peace and meditation.

Ancient, Beautiful Church - absolutely worth the trip off the beaten path
Jun 2018 • Couples
The church at Gropina, unlike so many cathedrals is splendid in its simplicity. The stone is magnificent - the acoustics were amazing. While there an artist was sitting quietly drawing, she was singing as she drew - we were so glad she did not hear us enter. The country side is worth a stroll when you leave the church.

Must see Romanesque pieve
Jun 2018 • Solo
About twenty minutes above the town of Loro Ciuffena, a must see church that is unique because of its Roman origins. Very simple styling with columns carved with Roman-themed art.
Park outside the main gate to the tiny town and walk in. Stop and visit the roadside chapel at the entrance dedicated to babies.
The views of the surrounding area from the hilltop are breathtaking.

Make the effort to see this
May 2018 • Couples
This Romanesque parish church is found in the tiny village of Gropina just out of Loro Ciuffena.
You will need to park approximately 400 m away and walk down to the church.
This historical building was begun in the 1200’s and updated twice since.
The charm is found in the siting of this national treasure in such a bucolic place.
Don’t miss the glorious view from the gardens adjacent to the church.
A must see if you are in the area.
