Nice place, but not much left. Not a complete ruin. It has a nice path around in the fields, nice evening stroll. Trim has a few things to offer, a quiet little town.

This castle has an interesting story and the guide managed to tell it all in a very enthusiastic way with a bit of humour along the way. I've been there twice and both times the guides were really good. The keep is also well worth...More

There are picnic benches outside, plenty of open space, not expensive to get in and guided tours for a slightly higher price.

Missed the tour to the top was disappointed by this would have liked to have seen the top. Also an audio tour would have been nice. Lucky to get to see a balloon taking off same day

Very interesting. My partner and I just wandered the castle ourselves, exploring its grounds. We found it very cool, considering how old this place is and you can still look around and touch it without being kept behind a barrier 100ft. The day we visited...More

This castle is a must if you have family and friends visiting from abroad. The cost of the tour is reasonable and the guilds a wealth of knowledge.

There is a Gaeltacht area not far from there close to Athboy. Ráth Chairn was founded in 1935 when families moved to area from Connemara, it’s grown a lot since then! Enjoy your visit. Slainte!
