Come back when restrictions go
Jun 2021
Sadly you can't enter the castle due to Covid restrictions, so there isn't much to see here as of now; you can't even sit down on the grass and have a picnic. With that said, it is still a nice and historical structure that was featured in a famous movie, and the guides are lovely. If you have a couple minutes to burn and are looking for a quiet and relaxed stroll, this is a lovely spot to do so.

Visit to Trim Castle
Jun 2021 • Couples
Myself and my husband visited trim castle recently and enjoyed our visit. We were unable to go into the castle due to restrictions but enjoyed walking around the grounds of the castle which is very well kept and the staff are good with the history of the castle.

Lovely staff- one way system safe surroundings. Staff greeted us on arrival to explain safety protocol. Informative posters at every wall both in English and Irish! Would recommend for anyone visiting trim.

Still Fantastic Even With Tge Keep Closed
Sep 2020 • Solo
Trim Castle is magnificent and though I'm not going to lie and say the visit to the Keep is the not highlight, something I've done many, many times, the grounds are still well worth a visit and are a delight onto themselves.
Fair play to the OPW, it us beautifully maintained and they have a one way system in these times of Covid wherby you tour the site on your own. Plenty of signage makes sure you learn plenty as well as take in the lovely scenery.
It's free for the rest of 2020 though even in 'normal' times the entrance fee is very, very nominal.
Plenty of staff on site to answer questions and add to your visit.

We knew that tours are off for covid,,, But this did not put us off. I don't know if it is allways free to walk atound, Biu it was today.
This was a very big place. Plus when passing on the main road, It looks great, As most of the wall is intact, And the colour of the stone is good on pictures.

Amazing place Castle and other ruins so interesting.
Jul 2020 • Couples
The park and grounds are well worth a visit it's my third time to visit and will be back the Castle speaks for itself even the covid 19 restrictions did not ruin the visit. The grounds and walks around the park and by the river were spotless and litter free and a credit to all involved in the upkeep.

The Medieval Castle
Jul 2020 • Family
The important historical Castle is just about an hour drive from Dublin. The visit is free of charge at least so far after it was reopen after lockdown. But just internal yard is open for public castle itself is closed. It is interesting to walk around the castle walls. It worths to be visited.

Beautiful setting
Jun 2020 • Solo
Unfortunately the guided tours inside the castle were not available when I visited. However I got to walk around and explore the castle grounds which were small but nice. The castle itself is in a beautiful settling and there is a bridge just outside the castle which you can cross and which is the starting point for a number of short signposted walks. I will definitely return when guided tours and back running.

Just note that parking outside the castle is very limited.
