Quiet beach

Quiet Beach with a lot of parking availability, watch the parking-guards! The sand is fine and there is no trash in the Beach, very nice for young children.

The beach is huge, and has easy parking nearby. During the low tide, the sea is very very far. Clean and pleasant. After the dune level there are tables for picnicking.

Had a lovely walk along the beach, which was very clean from what we saw. There are plenty of amenities nearby as well as historic memorials etc.

Visited this D Day site on a sunny afternoon in March with only a few locals and visitors walking on the beach. Seeing the beautiful peaceful scene today it is hard to picture the horror which faced our troops arriving by landing craft in June 1944, but then looking at the memorials on the beach, particularly the flame sculpture near... Bearing in mind the history of the D-Day landings, there are local attractions but to me it all seems a little too irrevelant today unfortunately. One cannot blame the local trades and visitors for enjoying the long beach and sea for what they see today.

A lovely beach, with plenty space and opportunities to do some Karting, wind surfing. Also an historical site being one of the landing beaches. Very nice for a stroll.

We have visited before in the summer and this truly is a beautiful beach but we were very disappointed when we were there in the middle of September. The whole of Ouistreham stank! We discovered why when we tried to have a paddle in the sea. There was a 4 foot wide band of rotting seaweed stopping anyone from going... More

I would never normally give a beach 5 stars, as I hate the sea and I hate sand, but this is part fo Sword Beach, where the British 3rd Division landed on D-Day, and is an important site to see. Stand on the beach looking at the buildings, and imagine being attacked by the Germans. Stand near the bunkers or... More

As one of the "D" Day landing beaches (Sword beach) It is a sweeping and wide stretch of sand. You can feel the history

Lovely clean beach with path to walk on if you don't want to get sand in your shoes! Very close to car ferry so ideal for dog walking. Areas for snacks/drinks etc available.
