Megaliths

The rod is not well signed. You must keep driving until you come to sparking place where there is a sign on the right indicating the megaliths. The path is very uneven at the start but becomes easier. It is NOT 300 m from the car park but about 1km in total.

Impressive historical monument, nice walk.

Less impressive than others in the area but free to access and an easy, accessible walk in beautiful scenery. Leaves lots to the imagination. The road leading to is very windy and not in good condition so takes longer than expected. Park on the road with signs to follow to join the trail.

Small but nice

The megaliths and sites were much smaller than I had expected. Nevertheless, it was a nice hike little through a beautiful scenery. I arrived there at around 10am, when it wasn't very hot yet.

Mighty Megaliths

Enjoyed the short walk (300 metres, from the parking area, if I remember correctly) in lovely countryside to the Standing Stones; Two Menhirs which were used for astronomical purposes and the chambered Dolmen used for ceremonial or healing use. The scenery was breathtaking. It is definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, not enough information boards in English.

Atmospheric and beautiful
Jun 2018 • Family
The countryside was beautiful and considering the short hike, constantly changing. The sites themselves were interesting enough, but what stays with you is the overall scenery and how they sit within it so peacefully - Very un touched by human hand except for some signs with information but only in French - I wish my language was better! Our 4 year old needed carrying by the end, but on a better day he would have been fine.

Great setting

The megaliths are very interesting but the walk and the setting did it for me.
Wow, a beautiful place!

Ancient history in lovely natural countryside, unspoilt by tourism
Sep 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed the short hike through unpaved roads to discover the standing stones. As we were doing a road trip around the island, we didn't mind driving a return route to find this site, fortunately I think this fact it has kept it relatively unspoilt by coachloads of tourists. The downside for me was not enough information signage in English, or other languages - my French is limited and the internet also did not offer very much information on the prehistoric sites we visited, in the south.
Very pretty countryside with fields and lovely rock formations nearby.

interesting

There is just one long road near Sartene to get to Cauria (even though it's closer to Bonifacio, you can't get there from there). And then a long walk. But it was all quite pleasant and interesting and interesting to imagine life there in prehistoric times.

Neolithic sites full of information about our beginnings as humans

Wow, these walking around 'live' museums were full of surprises and interesting tidbits. Go on a day that is not too hot.

Historical delight
Sep 2015 • Couples
Loved the walking path mostly for the beautiful scenery. I felt very serene there. Do bring water, especially if you are not used to walking. The monuments are marked and well preserved. A touch of mystery that veils their origin adds to the charm. One cannot but wonder what else is hidden under the rugged Corsican terrain.
