Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Irakli Beach is an absolute paradise for those looking to escape the crowded tourist hotspots and experience Bulgaria’s wild, unspoiled coastline. The soft golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and surrounding greenery create a breathtaking backdrop for a truly relaxing day by the sea.

What makes Irakli special is its untouched natural beauty—there are no towering resorts or commercial developments, just raw, pristine landscapes. The water is clean and perfect for swimming, and the beach itself is spacious, meaning you can always find a quiet spot to unwind. Sunsets here are spectacular, making it a great location for photographers and nature lovers alike.

Do keep in mind that amenities are minimal, so bring your own food, water, and shade if you’re staying for the day. There are a few beach bars with drinks and snacks, but don’t expect luxury service—this is more of a laid-back, nature-focused destination.

Overall, Irakli Beach is a must-visit if you’re in Bulgaria and looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning scenery. Perfect for nature lovers, campers, and anyone who enjoys a more off-the-beaten-path experience.

Would definitely return!

One of the best Bulgarian beaches. Keep in mind that it is not fully regulated (for now), so there are not many amenities. However, they have a small bistro to have a lunch, small shop for basic groceries, restroom... Also, it is clothes optional, so don't be surprised :-)
The beach is gorgeous, the water crystal clear.
The only unpleasant thing is the road from the
main highway to the beach - it is in very bad condition, but is only 3-5 km. Parking is usually full but if you take one of the side roads you can find a place to park.

We visited Irakli and the next door Vaya beach this morning, ample about halfway between Sunny Beach and Obzor just turn off the main E87 and keep going straight on for about 1km, ignore the sign to turn right, you come to a car park 6 lev from 8am to 6pm though many cars park just before the official car park for free.

If you want a reasonably quiet beach with lot's of facilities like jet skiing, parasailing, bars, cafe's souvenir shops etc go to Obzor beach, if you want a busy total tourist beach with everything go to Sunny Beach but if you want a quiet beach where you could be half a kilometre from the next person then go to Vaya Beach and the further you go along the coast the quieter it gets, Vaya beach is quiet but with more people but once you get onto Irakli beach (about 500mtrs along) it gets quieter and quieter, Vaya beach is good for families with a couple of Café/bars though we did find the V bar to be twice the prices of the bars in Sunny Beach, there are free areas for you to use your own sunshades, sun beds, umbrellas etc and areas where these facilities are provided at a small cost, Irakli Beach is untouched with miles of open sand, as you walk South you will find more and more people go topless and walk far enough you reach the nudist area though you do not have to be nude to use that part of the beach many people will be naked. The sand is lovely all along that area of the coast and the sea perfect for swimming.

But as I said both beaches are very basic and natural though there are signs of holiday chalets being built on Vaya beach.

Nice beach at a protected area which means that it's not yet to exploited.
If you're lucky you might get to see a turtle crossing the road.
There is a beach bar and a small convenient store in the area.
Sun bathing chairs are offered at different price ranges but this is optional.
Also lots of work is put every day to keep the beach clean.

Good beach where no one bothers anyone. You can put your umbrella almost anywhere. It’s a sandy beach, so no rocks. The sea was very wavy, there was a red flag appointed (so no swimming, but for your own safety). The road to Irakli Beach is bad, many curves on the “good” part of the road. Close to the beach there is a local road that is not recognized by Google Maps and there is no asphalt on it!

Whilst this is a fantastic beach it is sadly no longer the hidden gem it used to be it is now becoming much more commercialised although still a lot less so than many other beaches. It is still an awesome place to visit. If u want sun loungers you can either pay 42 lev for 2 loungers and an umbrella with a cushion for the lounger, with water and fruit or 21 lev for two sun loungers no cushion and an umbrella. Sadly solo travellers not catered for as u have to pay the same price even if u only want 1 bed. The 21 lev also gives acres to a toilet which is ok and is as clean as the previous person who used it. This beach is well worth a visit despite the recent changes. Great to see camping still allowed.

Grat beach near Obzor, a good alternative if you want to escape beaches with lots of people. Here you can find space to enjoy the sean and sun without costs. If you’re looking for more comfort, at Irakli beach they have very comfortable sunbeds as well as a restaurant right on the beach. The sunbeds cost 43 leva per day (for 2 persons) and includes fruits, water and towels.
If you want to spend quality time at the beach, this is the place.
