Half way between the town of Santa Elena and the Santa Elena Preserve the Sky Walk is located: This complex use trails, suspension bridges for a more tranquil introduction to the ecology and natives of the forest canopy, constructed within the cloud forest. It allows a vision of the forest from a different perspective which starts with a walk on the ground taking you up to explore the treetops, a hardly discovered habitat, called the “canopy” with a naturalist guide. Also discover the night wildlife at our Sky Walk Night Tour.

The Valverde Family created this wonderful and original walk on the tree tops many years ago. Others have built similar places but I must say that Sky Walk is a company that supports locals, it is owned by locals and it is always seeking to be very professional in everything they do. They also own the Herpetarium in the Santa... More

The hanging bridges through the tropical rain forest is well worth the 2hours and the $30. I recommend the guided tour because if you don't know what you're looking at you'll miss it. It's a very unique experience to view the tropical forest from above. The tropical forest is dense and deep. A completely different experience than walking though the... More

This was booked as a private birdwatching walk with guide - don't trust tour companies, do it yourself. So we made the best of it and to be fair our guide was delightful, but why start out at 8am when most of the wildlife has hunkered down for the day? Day 2 - oh no! They did it again -... More

The sky trek zip line was amazing. I was super nervous but after the the first practice line felt totally safe. There are 8 lines total so by the end your heart is really racing. The guides were friendly and answered all my nervous questions. The gondola ride is short and not worth doing without the other activities. The bridge... More

We opted in S. Elena for the smaller, less frequented (and being penny pinchers admittingly cheaper) national park and were greatly rewarded with a really beautiful hike, a nice ambience and some great views. The info center is very modern with good facilities (plus a small bar, terrace and a souvenier shop). Everything is clean, kep in good order and since... More

We went on a cool day and were glad. The walk climbs up the hills and then along crossing via the hanging bridges, the longest of which is 124 metres. There are lots of labels in the ground telling the name and uses of trees. The vegetation was lovely but we saw very little wildlife - mostly ants! I think... More

Although it was a four hour trip from our hotel it was well worth the trek..On arrival we visited the butterfly enclosure and humming birds(fantastic).Followed by a 2hour tour of the cloud forest canopy which was awesome. On the return we were lucky enough to sight a couple of sloths huddled in a tree.....result!

Through Desafio Adventure Co. I booked this tour and it was a nice easy walk through a number of bridges with a guide who was knowledgeable of the area, and flora that I was witnessing. The bridges were solid and not at all a worry to cross. The view of the Ficus trees and other vegetation from above was a... More

I am glad we went around 3 o'clock because it was not very crowded. You have to walk uphill at first, but it's pretty flat once your there. Most of the trail is just on wet dirt or whatnot, not the bridges. But the bridges are fun, especially since you can bounce on them when no one else is on... More
