STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Mar 2019 • Couples
This monument consists of a forested path through a pine forest on the hillside above Santa Maria Della Grazie. There are 16 sculptures positioned in this area, 14 coinciding with the Stations of the Cross, at the bottom is Padre Pio, atop the hill and 244 steps is Risen Christ. There is also a Madonna and child in Marble. It was inaugurated in 1981

Heavenly
Dec 2018 • Family
There are a load of steps to climb but well worth the effort. It was very meditative and relaxing which surprised me because it was so high. I truly felt a sent of wellbeing and the view was breathtaking. My children enjoyed the climb too and considering there are a fair few steps they didn't complain once.

We were part of an Irish Pilgim group who took part in the "Way of the Cross" here.
Sep 2018 • Friends
We undertook this Via Crucis as part of our Padre Pio pilgrimage. There were 40 in our group led by 2 Irish Priests. We used the slowly ascending walkway (suitable for wheelchair access) to perform the Stations of the Cross ,with the Cross held by 2 pilgrims between each station. The walk was extremely peaceful ,as we meditated in silence against a background of the stations flanked by trees. All who took part were uplifted by this deep spiritual experience. There were plenty of other groups and nationalities undertaking the Via Crucis at the same time. When we completed the journey to the Memorial at the top -we were inspired by the spectacular views -the more active and younger pilgrims descended by the many steps, while those who were less able walked back the same way they performed the stations.

Stairways to heaven
Jun 2018 • Couples
Was a very nice climb up, meditative and surprisingly, not tiring at all. With every step taken, truly felt like walking up the stairways to heaven, and finally being to see the Creator.

It a zone of silence, but we saw a bunch of nuns talking in there. I wanted to take a picture of them breaking the rules of Jesus.

Peaceful retreat and good exercise!

This winding path takes you through the stations of the cross in the most wonderful, shady park setting. There were groups praying but other than when we came across them, it was quiet. There are signs asking for silence.

The path winds back and forth up to the top of the hill, then you can choose to take the steps back or walk back down the path. It was wonderful!

Perfect for prayer, reflections and beauty

This is a must see. A beautiful, escalating walk of the Stations of the Cross. Wonderful in the day and moving at night with a candlelit Stations of the cross. Makes for a nice walk, but much better with following a spiritual program.

Place to pray
Apr 2017 • Family
Statues may not be of the highest artistic value, but the place makes it very appropriate to pray the way of cross in a special manner.
