A central square with statue of a saint, municipal buildings, cafes & bars. Lots of amazing little side-streets with shops and cafes. Gets very touristy in the middle of the day as the coaches arrive, but still a nice vibe around the place. Lots of nooks and crannies to investigate.Visited June 2023Written 19 June 2023

A beautiful sight. We drove as close as possible to the entrance of the old part and walked in. A lot of noise and music. The old piazza is full of people. In general tourism in Puglia is mostly Italian. Hardly any foreigners. We walked in the old part which is beautiful and adorned with white buildings. It gives a very calming effect. We walked all the way up from where you can see the sea. A must.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 July 2023
- phat_dawg_21Alpharetta, Georgia13,464 contributionsGreek Island FeelWe enjoyed getting away from the chaos in the busy central piazza and walking up the hill into an area full of alleys, narrow streets, and stairs, which run between the whitewashed buildings. And be aware, there are a lot of steps, and you can easily get turned around. Try it and you will be rewarded with cafes and bars with live music, interesting shops, and views of the Adriatic Sea. The higher you go, the better the views get. It all feels like a village in a tiny Greek island.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 September 2023

We began near Piazza della liberta, and the little streets radiating from there, including the unmissable viewpoint near Pza Martiri del Foibe. We then circled the old walls, and ascended to the old centre a cobweb of little lanes which are a sheer joy to wander around.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 November 2023

The Old Town has some nice old historic buildings and the Duomo. It’s interesting that all the houses are white. The coast is beautiful, we took lots of photos. We liked wandering in the narrow streets. It’s very nice, panoramic historical centre. A must-see site in Puglia!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 January 2024

Ostuni is a white pearl of Puglia. When you walk through the old town you can feel its incredible atmosphere. And the view of the sea in far distance makes you smile. There are a lot of small places to walk through in the historic centre, I'm sure you will be delighted!

One of Puglia's highlights - a whitewashed town perched on top of the hill.
Went there twice - once during the day but stayed less than an hour due to scorching heat - not much to do and most things closed.
Went back around 7 PM - packed with people, terrific old town, plenty of great restaurants, nicely decorated central plaza, Cathedral, mystic side streets,...really enjoyed for more than 3 hours.
TIP: Park at Parcheggio Ostuni Al Giardino - pretty big and fairly priced parking lot, 5 min walk from the main square.

Nice pedestrian village with white painted houses built on a hill. The old town is pedestrian. Adorned with restaurants and ice cream shops it is animated and pleasant to roam.
