The place is surely nice. But quiet a steep climb on the stairs up. The place is very good when the weather is nice and sunny. Lush green garden inside. Seen lot of people having photo shoots, seemed like they are models. A very nice top view to a part of the city from the top.

What a location, the food was great... special dining in a castle above the Neckar Valley, service personnel very attentive, you will love this special place where you can go either for a romantic candle light dinner or a family reunion...

This is a quite place to walk around and have a great view of the Nekar Valley area. There was plenty of parking available. It was a short walk up to the old fortification.

This town is beautiful. Just captures old world Germany and all it has to offer. Go, enjoy and relax with some good wine and watch the people.

Although we didn't make the trek to the hilltop, you can't miss the covered wall and towers including Dicker Turm as they look over the town. Looking up from the midieval town center you see the vineyards and then the walls of the old fortress. When the sun shines on the hillside it makes for an incredible photo opportunity.

Make some efforts to get on top of the hill to see the full of Esslingen at your feet))) When you will be going up or down you pass by the farmhouse wine hill with five different sorts of grapes. Also you enjoy the touch of being a Robin Hood, climbing the fortress wall)

I spotted the unusual narrow wooden roof and wooden supports atop the medieval wall making its way up the hill behind Esslingen and was intrigued. We decided to investigate and discovered it was a covered stone staircase to the top of the hill. We finally reached the top and were really glad we had made the effort, as we had... More

A must if you are in Esslingen. You can walk on these castle walls like the archers did in past. It has an amazing view of the city too. There are many benches for you to sit and relax.

Sitting atop a hill overlooking Esslingen, you can either walk up an ancient stone staircase of 300 steps or drive your car to ample, free parking next the Burg. We visited on a Saturday morning and there were no less than three wedding parties taking photos of the bride and groom in the scenic setting. There is much to explore... More
