This trip was the best. Tours are both in German and English. All done by miner. Last tour is at 15:00 it takes 1 hr. There are 2 slides one boat ride and train ride. The best in Salzburg!!!

We were unsure how to get ourselves to the mine, but the efficient woman in the OBB office at Salzburg railway station soon sorted us out. She booked train tickets to Hallein station; then a bus ride on route 41 which leaves from right outside...More

An interesting tour that gives an overview of the history of salt mines in the region. The tour includes a train ride (of sorts!), boat ride, and slides, that takes the group some 300m into the old mines. In the mines, one would “cross”into German...More

We chose this one of the choice of three saltmines in the area, because of it's proximity to Salzburg. This one is the nearest, and was an easy 30 minute bus ride from the city centre. (You do have to change buses, but the driver...More
