Great engineering, beautiful setting, the viaduct takes a great photo. So glad it was restored and preserved. Worth a visit.

A large group of us saw this sight from the Pen-y-ghent feature, on a lovely sunny and clear day. Several hours later we reached this location and had our packed lunches next to it. Impressed by the effort and engineering that went into its construction.

Well worth the decision to repair, Mr. Portillo. Thanks to all the FOSCLA supporters too. My grandad was a driver on the line.

If you have time to leave the A65 to Skipton from the M6, turn left at Ingleton towards Hawes and you will see this wonderful viaduct. Well worth a detour.

Really impressive structure with lots of history. Lots of boards around explaining the viaduct, as well as the remains of the work camp underneath. Worth not just looking at from afar, but also walking up close and viewing the remains in the area. If you follow the railway line further north, you can also see an aquaduct across the railway,... Park in the nearby free car park and walk the 400 yards or so and stand underneath the wonderful Victorian Viaduct made without the aid of lorries, electricity (?) and the petrol engine! (1870 - 1875) If you go around sunset, you can get some spectacular photographs! The Viaduct was featured in the Harry Potter films when Harry is going... More

A reminder that great civil engineering projects and the environment can exist in harmony. You can only imagine the furore that would ensue if such a project was proposed today!

You can't imagine the trouble the people who built this went through. You can only see how impressive it is by standing under the arches.
