You can not help but be impressed by the viaduct, an amazing edifice that is both alien to the Dales but now integral to the landscape.

Great place to stop and investigate on a dry day, parking is just off the road so be careful with kids and pets. The viaduct its self is wheelchair accessible but further walks would involve steps, there are no toilets etc. Wonderful views and the...More

An amazing structure and an amazing story behind its building. What those men must have gone through. You just can't stop taking photos when you have this monolith in front of you.

On the one hand a huge industrial eyesore on this wild unforgiving valley on the other a beautiful feat of Victorian engineering that somehow blends in perfectly. I think the valley is better for it, judge for yourself.

Decided to check this place out on our way to Malham Cove. It is well worth the detour and is a pleasant walk from the road. There is no official car park and so you need to take care crossing it as some of the...More

No, there is a hard path, but not for vehicles. To the nearest point perhaps a quarter of a mile walk, including some over grass, perhaps half a mile all path to further along the viaduct.

Originally there were two tracks over the viaduct, but during repair and reconstruction this has been reduced to a single track, reverting to double at each end of the structure. Ruth.
