We went to Riveaux Terrace, as National Trust members. There was no clue of what was to come, as you enter the property through a wooden shop and reception. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and made us and our pet dog welcome. We were given a map and told a brief history of the place. Toilets and a... More

Outdoor walk and excellent viewing points of the ancient abbey. Ideal for picnics and dogs on leads. The temples are also interesting structures - well worth a visit

It's an incredibly peaceful place to visit. On a clear spring day such as the one we enjoyed the views were stunning of the abbey. The lady in the temple gave a very interesting talk and insight into days gone by. We'll be back in summer with a picnic.

A quiet and peaceful place that is worth a visit to look at the temples, but also to get wonderful views down to Rievaulx Abbey. A steep climb up the permissive path from Rievaulx, but well worth it - you can always go in the car. However, I enjoyed the reward of a chocolate ice cream from the National Trust... More

Great views if the weather is nice. A pretty walk. Basic facilities. Should take the average walker about three quarter of an hour max.

A lovely walk with excellent Yorkshire scenery. The dogs loved it and the temples and sculpture was delightful for the humans to look at too.

Had a great time here, but I would have to say that the weather has to be great if you plan to come here. The views over Rye Dale and Rievaulx Abbey were fantastic. You only need to spend around an hour to walk around and view the Tuscan and Ionic Temples. The guide within the Ionic Temple was really... More

Having seen the star attraction of Rievaulx Abbey it was really good to see it from on high and get another perspective of its setting. We managed to catch the brief opening half hour for one of the temples and a fascinating insight into its use as an unusual dining location for the large Mansion down the road. Well worth... More

I had never heard of this place until last year, even though I have been to Rievaulx Abbey several times in the past. My girlfriend and I finally visited Rievaulx Terrace and Temples a few days ago. It was excellent. The views of Rievaulx Abbey from the Terrace are magnificent. The woodland walk was fun and engaging, especially the games... More
