Nice but not as I expected

You expect more as the history is long and colorful. Nevertheless this museum helps you understand the background of prince islands...

This a real living museum and should be better publicised, especially to Istanbulis. On a busy Saturday, we Australians were the only ones there. Masses of visual information, videos and photographs, telling the stories of life on Bukuyada through the ages... A little-known treasure of a museum.

Stumbled upon this museum and spent a very interesting hour or so strolling around. Take your time and learn lots of interesting history (right back to prehistoric times) and more recent background to the Princes Islands. Having been to museums all over the world, the exhibitions were some of the most effectively and powerfully articulated, utilising expressive and original physical... More

The island was wonderful starting with the 90 minute boat ride - even though it was FULL. Bu set the ride across the strait and then the Sea of Marmara was very scenic. Once you set foot in Buyukada, there will be a swarm of people, restaurants, cafes etc. There is a option to explore the island on horse cart... More

This museum should be one of the stops for the ones who visit Buyukada and also other Princes' Islands. You can learn more about the history, culture and islanders through diverse sections in the museum. Although there are some inadequacies about the display of the materials, it is one of the pioneering projects for the introduction and promotion of these... More
