The Church is a well preserved, working Greek church. To get there, it is a 25-30 minute walk up a very steep cobblestoned street. My wife almost killed me for dragging her up there but it was worth it. Best to take a Horse and Buggy to the "Lunapark" and hoof it from there. Bring water if it is a... More

You probably received advices to ride around the island they are mainly solid however if you'd like to climb to Aya Yorgi to enjoy the scenic view, visit the church and drink a cup of tea my advice is to ditch your bikes and hike. A semi-long steep road leads to top of the hill. It is really hard to... More

One of the best hiking trips ever, plus ancient church with various architectural aspects, best part is the view up there.

It's a small curch on top of a very steep hill, but I'd recommend it as it is a nice change of pace from the mundane things of Büyükada. Also, the restaurant is definitely worth the visit!

OK. To get there is a whole story. You either walk a loong walk (couple of hours) and then walk a bit more to reach it (1km uphill) or you take the horse cars (a bit expensive). Once on top, the view is magical. The church is untouched by islamic elements. It is a shame to see that this is... More

The church is closed but it is nonetheless worth going up the hill as the atmosphere is very special and the view up there is magnificent. You can ride up on a donkey but we walked up and it took about 20 minutes from the Luna park where we left our bikes. There is a nice restaurant up on the... More
