Perched on top of the hill above Gorizia and next to the memorable World War 1 museum, this is an impressive 15th century structure. Best of all are the wonderful views from the battlements, well worth the climb.

So many times a castle is just walls with nothing inside. Not so in Gorizia. The castle has furniture showing what the dining room, chapel and other rooms looked like. Additionally, there were exhibits on musical instruments and WWI. This is one of my favorite...More

Couldn't have asked for a nicer castle to visit. Loved that they have kept it in the traditional set up so you get a feel for life in the 1500s. Loved it here.

It was raining when we visited the castle but we enjoyed it even more for this reason: it has been like jumping in the medieval era! Wonderful sightseeing from the top
