We, as a family four did the eco skellig tour. It was absolutely brilliant from start to finish!! We did get the most beautiful weather, which was a bonus. We spotted a pod of dolphins on the way out, which Derek, the skipper, was delighted to go out to and spend time watching. He was so good with the children and kept them engaged for entire trip. The trip was so informative, history, wildlife etc. We will absolutely be going again, hopefully we will get the weather again to allow us land on Skellig Michael.

First rate service, very accommodating host and the onboard crew made it all easy. Booking process was easy too, would have no hesitation in recommending. The actual visit was an experience and I'm very glad I got to go. Dress appropriately and listen to the safety briefing and you'll be grand

We went for a eco wildlife tour to the Skellig islands. It was a fantastic experience. Seals in the water when we left the Portmagee Channel and sunbathing on the islands, the impressive cliffs, the bird city on the smaller island, the stories surrounding the bigger islands. Derrick was a great boatsman and a wonderful guide, stopping the engines to point out the birds and their particularities. A bumpy ride on the sea, more than worth while.

It’s hard to write a Skelligs tour review. If you survive and you see them in all their glory it’s hard not to be amazed. In terms of the tour itself overall it was outstanding. Our guide was friendly and informative. He was also an expert captain no doubt. My only suggestion for improvement would be a quick safety briefing before departing and it would have been better had we been wearing life vests. They were there in the front but had anything gone wrong it would have been hard to get them. Traveling with two pre teens you think about those things more. My life isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on compared to theirs. To be fair I should have asked to have them wear them. My bad. All that said we had an amazing time and our skipper was a legend.

What an incredible day landing on Skellig Micheal with Derek our Skipper and Guide of Skellig Rock Cruises. He must be the happiest most informative guy I've had the pleasure of being with. Stunning scenery excellent local knowledge and knows everything you need to know about all the islands around Skellig Micheal. I truly cannot recommend this trip with Derek and the Company more.

I would highly recommend Seanie Murphy tour to the Skellig Michael. We really had the best day and very enjoyable. The boat was safe and the kids absolutely loved driving the boat. Thank you for making it such a memorable day.

Took a boat trip around the two islands. Thought my mam would vom on the way out with the swells and the speed but she soon settled into it and enjoyed the glory of the gannets on little skellig and the history and beauty of skellig Michael. What mad bastards those monks were to live out there in the wild Atlantic way. The history and beauty of it really makes you pause for thought. Well worth it if you think you've got the the stomach for it on a choppy day 😂

Visited in August 21. Incredible experience and cant wait to go back. We took our two kids age 12 and 14 and it was perfect. I probably wouldn't take younger kids. Left Portmagee onboard Celtic Victor with Skellig Coast Adventures and couldn't recommend more. Crew Donal and Ger were great. We will definitely go back.

Did the Skelligs landing tour with sea quest as a group of tgeee. It was an amazing experience . Worth every penny . Seanie was an amazing guide and communicated with us before the trip to tell us what was happening . He also gave us lots of information and history and made sure we were comfortable and ok all the way .

Seanie and Derek are fantastic everything about Sea Quest is superb !. I will always travel with them and can’t recommend them highly enough !. They are true professionals with a very human face (a very rare quality these days). It is clear from the moment that you meet them that they are at one with the unique environment that they inhabit, their love for it is truly infectious and will make you want to return to this very special place. If you are fortunate enough to have the chance to travel with them I would strongly urge you to seize it you won’t be disappointed !.

Hi Sandra, I am headed out there to Skellig Michael in mid-April of next year, and wonder if any of the operators will let you onto the island a little earlier than the posted season if you get there early and the weather is workable. What was your impression? How would I be able to get the best chance at that?? Thanks!!

I would say pretty definitively no. The season is determined by the Office of Public Works (part Irish governing body) which takes it out of the individual sea captain’s and boating company’s hands.

Does anyone know which boat tour operators to Skelligs Rock have a washroom on their boat? I get seasick, so I want to make sure I have a boat with a washroom just in case :P Thanks so much in advance!
