Lovely gothic church

Lovely church with beautiful interior and art work. The stained glass windows near the altar were stunning. So tall. Worth popping in to see.

The Church of St Maurice is located next to Archbishop's Gymnasium with its impressive facade and the Castle/Palace. It was built in the Gothic style.

Neo-Gothic Cathedral
May 2017 • Couples
There is more to Kromeriz than just the Archbishop's Chateau and Gardens. The centre of town is overflowing with Baroque and Neo-Renaissance buildings. Churches, schools, Trinity columns and ornately decorated shopfronts abound.

One of the landmarks of the Old Town is this church, which was built at the height of the Neo-Gothic craze of the early 19th century. When we visited there was creepy organ music playing and the surprisingly high vaults were filled with echoing hymns. The church also has some lovely stained glass, oil paintings and carved marble,

It is free to enter. It didn't divert us for too long, but it is pleasant.

Surprisingly high interior
Sep 2016 • Family
Although this church is not located on the main square and its architecture is bit less attractive than some other local baroque churches, it is the place worth of the visit. It is a living church with regular service and thought tourism is just a "side-effect" and regular visits of tourists are rare. So it is recommended to prepare yourself in advance and be able to take the tour independently. For sure you will be surprised by the height of the interior which makes it really impressive.

Stunning
Jan 2016 • Solo
Stunning in its simplicity. Clean, airy and very light inside, despite relatively short windows. The stonework is painted but as stone. All very fresh and new looking. Even the apse and altar are kept simple. Very relaxing atmosphere.

It's a beautiful, majestic, elegant, awe-inspiring building - it's worth spending a quiet moment here and reading its history if you're in town.

The Cathedral of St Maurice is close to the town square and worth a visit. It was built in the 13th century and features beautiful paintings in a solemn atmosphere.

Very beautiful church
Oct 2014 • Solo
The church of Sain Maurice is, in my opinion, the most interesting church in the city. It's a beautiful gothic church with plenty of paintings.
The church dates back to the 13th century when it was built upon the request of the bishop of Olomouc, Bruno of Schaumburg
The church was destroyed during Hussite war and burnt down in the beginning of the 19th century, but renovated each time.
