Have you ever asked yourself how the wine gets into the bottle and what a winemaker has to do all year round? You can find the answers to these questions in the LOISIUM WineExperience located in Langenlois, Lower Austria. Amongst the vineyards nosy parkers have the chance to discover the fascinating world of wine within a labyrinth underneath the surface, which is 1.5 kilometres long and about 900 years old. A special highlight of the WineExperience awaits you in the basilica that can be found in the labyrinth, namely a lasershow with the title “GENIUSS – a journey with all senses”. The Lower Austria - Vinotheque & Sektotheque offers the delicious wines and sparkling wines for tasting and sale for farm-gate prices. The attached vineyard Steininger shows wine connoisseurs with what kind of state-of-the-art equipment wine is produced nowadays. The “10er Haus” is a renovated house with baroque style that shows the life of wine makers in the past. Since the opening in 2003 the LOISIUM has established itself to the centre for wine and culture in

Lower Austria. The fascinating combination of world-class architecture and the sensual mystic world of wine located underneath the surface is the heart of the LOISIUM. The LOISIUM WineExperience is open all year round, not depended on weather conditions and suitable for the disabled. Audio guides are available in different languages such as German, English, French, Spanish, Hungarian, Polish and Russian, as well as guided tours are offered in German, English or on request in Czech, Slovakian, Russian, Spanish and Italian. In our wine-seminar programme you can discover together with wine experts the world of excellent type of wines.

This tour was included as part of our Avalon Danube cruise. Although we have been on many wine tastings, this was the most unusual. The tour was between wine tasting and an art/light show. Although interesting, we lost some the reason we were there, to taste their wines. They did serve good cheese and samples of their wine.

We went to this museum with two small kids. For the oldest one (7 years) they even had an own audio tour with a special program. The audio tour for adults and kids is very nice, informative and funny. First you are in the cellar, than go to an old house and tha back in the cellar. At the end... More

Visited Loisiarte as part of our group wine tour in the area. The tour is sort of wine related fun & education experience. The underground colourshow waterfountain was spectacular. We had visited quite a few xxx years old wine cellars by then, so that part was already familiar to us. This is certainly an attraction where to take kids on... More

Nice and stunning stories about wine production in a old and new wine cellar and labyrinth. They offer a large selection of wines with good prices and a corner with some refreshments and small food . Very nice decorated in the Advent and Xmas time , when we had a wine testing with a friendly blond lady who was born... More

The tour to the wine museum LOISIUM begins with a visit to the 900-year-old cellars, mystical, mysterious labyrinth of ancient wine cellar invites you to take an unusual walk, accompanied by amusing stories about wine. Both summer and winter, there reigns a constant temperature - about 10 degrees. Somewhere in the middle the road leads through the courtyard of the... More

When we visited the place - in the middle of the day - there was no one at the reception to sell us tickets. There seemed to be only one single person present in the wine shop who was busy serving wine to a larger group.
