Great 6 hour walk, partly through the bedding of the river. You need an experienced guide to take you there. We had a native Dutch speaking guide, living in Lencois, Jochen Geerts. You can find him on Facebook. Absolutely recommended!

We went to Sossego waterfall on our second day in lençois. I must confess that our guide sold the place really high, saying that it was the most beautiful waterfall in the world, which probably collaborated to my disappointment. After 1.5 hours of canoeing and another hour walking we've finally arrived at the sossego waterfall. It was so hot during... More

Spent the day hiking to and from Sossego Waterfall with my two daughters. Our guide was incredible- how did he know where to go? There seems to be no clear path and yet he confidently took us climbing over rocks and up hills - an exhilarating and exhausting trek.

You have to be very carefull at the trail because of a lot of slippery stones and holes but it is totally worth! Very romantical, very natural and an amazing view on the waterfall! You can swim, climb and go under the waterfall. The trail is also really nice. However, you have to be very carefull and you should practice... More

We went with a tour group that brought us to several different places but this was one of my favorite. Be sure to be able to hike a moderate trail with rocks and slippery stones. The reward is worth it with a perfect waterfall and a calm pool of water below to swim in.

The trail to Sossego Waterfall is very much worth it, however, it is poorly marked, so just be sure that you hire a guide. We joined a tour organized by Zen Tours with Pedro as our guide and we could not be more satisfied about our choice. Pedro was watching out for us, showing us the best way to go... More

Even during the dry season the waterfall was full. 6 hours ( round trip) hiking, medium difficult. We booked a tour guide to take us there - and It was worthy. Along the trail you can find other attractions like: ribeirão de cima, ribeirão do meio and ribeirão de baixo.

I'm only rating this a 4 instead of a 5, because of the difficulty level. I consider myself a physically fit person, but this hike was difficult! It was about 3 hours up and 3 hours down at least half of which is spent jumping from rock to rock up and down a canyon. My knees and ankles were shot... More

There are so many water falls in the area it is hard to choose one. There are many guides that one can hire which helps getting you to the right places. I do not recommend going alone unless you know the area and are an experienced hiker.
