Smashing intimate theatre
Oct 2018 • Couples
Medway little theatre is a smashing small theatre on the road between Chatham and Rochester. They offer ‘am dram’ at its absolute best with thrilling dramas, funny comedies, classics and a wealth of different productions every year. Its a very intimate space, most rows having no more than about 8 seats, there are around 12 rows and the bar is next to the seats so it is really very cosy.

Disability access is not great from what I’ve seen, the entrance is up steep external steps and the toilets indoor are also up very step steps. There may be access arrangements hidden away, but my tip us call before booking. I would certainly think twice before taking my mum there.

Other than this, there are child, young and adult members of the cast and work shops available.

Tickets are around £10 for a non-member adult ticket, its all cash when you get there, no card payments.

I’ve been going on and off for about 15 years maybe twice a year. I am not and never have been a member, but am a little bit in love with this lovely historic building and the people who work and perform there. I have laughed, been thrilled, shed a few tears and been made to ‘jump’ on many occasions. The cast is very professional and I’ve taken family members and work colleagues all who have had a good time.

If you’re looking for a big grand production, go to a big grand theatre, if you want something inexpensive, but full of quirk and quality, based in the heart of the community try The Medway Little Theatre.

An evening treat

Delightful venue with truly wonderful staff. Have visited several times and have seen a variety of performances, which vary from the okay to the very good. This performance of Sitting Pretty is exceptional, hence this review.

Go back you will
May 2017 • Couples
Dedicated band of actors make this place a must see when in Medway. Keep an eye on their website to book a seat at a production. Seats are a little uncomfortable so book wisely. The plays are so good though. Go and enjoy a production. You will go back.

Quaint cost and a very personal experience
Jul 2016
I believe all productions are done by volunteers but the quality is really top class. Don't think there is anything little about the performance it's only the lovely venue that's small. A really great feel, very personal and great views. There is a small bar that you can use during the interval. Across usually come out at the end and you can meet them and shake their hand or they can sign your programme

A Dolls House, in a Little Theatre....
May 2016
The intimate feel of this little theatre, is much like that when visiting relations you like, but don’t know very well. They all seem to be friends or family with a smarting of public and at just over a 100 seats the whole atmosphere is very close. The seating (in places a touch worn), and a little temperamental was creaking while the performance was on, a little off putting, but as the venue is so small it would be difficult to prevent the smallest of sounds being magnified. The production “of The Dolls House” is inspired, truly current and a stroke of casting by the director John Munson with a few memorable cast including Rebecca Bland, who was brilliant, energetic and line perfect as “the wife”, also equally compelling as the villain was Simon Kerkham, and Michael Bath twinkled as the doctor. Will definitely recommend this venue for a theatre night out, and going on-line now to book my ticket for the next production, Shakespeare’s, Midsummers Night Dream in June 2016.

I have seen several performances and it has been excellent. It's really tiny inside but very personal. There is a bar at the interval and very friendly professional staff.
