Stay well away
Aug 2021
I think this pub has just been taken over by a new brewery as the beer is awful and expensive. The TV's are situated in very poor places ad people just stand in front of them when any sport is on which automatically starts friction in a pub.
Had 4/5 pints of lager in here at the weekend and had to send 3 of them back as they were shocking. Also the Stella was shocking as lots of the guys in there were sending them back. Terrible pub to watch any live sport. Young lads sitting at the bar so no one can get to the bar? another bar on the other side of the pub not even open?
Not sure who the new owners are but if they continue like this it won't be open long.
Terrible pub won't be going back.
P.S. I think it's called the Dolphin Lounge Bar? Could be wrong though on that.

Bald statement
Aug 2020 • Friends
We came to this fine establishment before this pony lockdown. I like to compare The “Dolph” to a game of “golf”,... well in my son.

As mentioned before even my butters mate that looked a bit like Ben Tekkers always struck Gold when he comes into this pub.

This successful business has always been a great meeting point and a fantastic night out for the people of broadstairs and beyond. It is always very busy at weekends(b4 lockdown)

We wish you success and hope to see you reopening your doors very soon. Dave Bean is unlike any others I have seen! The man is a legend.

Peace

This establishment is always busy and it’s good at pulling in visitors into broadstairs.
Which is a huge plus point for the area!

I came in here with me mate that looks a bit like Ben tekkers and me ugly mate Mickey Pearce. We had a smashing time.

This pub is run by legends - well done folks. You will re open soon. We all have to tough it out.

Bald head on broad shoulders !

Lovely Pub Lunch experience
Feb 2020 • Couples
Popped in here at lunch-time after a bracing February walk along the beach with the dogs. Friendly staff and ambience. Simple menu of food that is both delicious and generous in its portions. The big cheese and ham ploughman’s would be fine for two people wanting a lighter snack. My partner had the veg panini. The dogs were made to feel very welcome too. We’ll be back

Disgusting
Sep 2019 • Family
Drugs seem to be a real problem in this pub, mainly with the locals who are older and look too old to be in the pub, amongst what in general, seems to be a very young scene, some kids look no older than 17, drinking.

Much nicer pubs to visit in Broadstairs.

Avoid!

Stay away from this pub at night, it's a hot spot for trouble!
Oct 2019 • Friends
This pub can get pretty awful on weekend nights. Me and my husband were out with a group of friends celebrating one of them leaving for Australia. Everyone was in high spirits enjoying a few drinks with good company but it all turned sour when the bar was closing. My nephew and friend were in the toilets when one of the doormen told my husband to leave because the pub is closing, he said 'no problem I am just waiting for them both to come out of the toilet then we will go' (he has a valid reason for sticking together as his brother was hit over the head with a glass bottle at the beginning of the year in that same bar). The doorman then put his hand round his throat which ended in a scuffle and my husband being on the floor, I ran over to him but was immediately dragged back by another doorman by him wrapping his arms around my neck. At this point our friend came out of the toilet and ran over to see what was happening and was also grappled to the floor, hitting his head on the bar causing a big gash. He has severe epilepsy and was lucky that this didn't cause him to have a seizure. Once outside we called the police and was having a conversation with the manager and another member of the door staff who both had made up a pack of lies saying we were throwing punches and it was a customer that had me by the neck. The manager also said 'i don't care what happened it just goes over my head'. My female friend being a witness to the whole commotion had to tell the doorman to let me go. We have arranged to give a statement to the police but more than likely the CCTV will have magically disappeared and all staff that witnessed it or was involved in it will have matching stories. When my brother in law was bottled in there at the beginning of the year it was seen on CCTV that one of the door staff tapped the culprit on the shoulder after the incident. The bar is a massive hot spot for trouble as it is with cheap drinks and alot of young drinkers so once you mix that with corrupt security and bar staff it is a massive recipe for disaster. I certainly won't ever be stepping foot in that place again. Broadstairs is a beautiful town with many other lovely bars to enjoy. AVOID THIS ONE!
