Well worth a visit. Very interactive for the children who especially loved dressing up and playing out a lesson in the old school room. Brilliant for child's there is lots to see and touch ad well as the 'look only ' exhibits. Also a really nostalgic collection of Hornsea pottery to see and bits to buy. The museum shop is... More

Nearly walked right past it when we visited - it was only because I looked in the window that I realised how much bigger this museum really is!!! Found it during Easter, so not only did we have the museum experience but also a fun Easter trail for out two children to enjoy (as well as the historical toy room).... More

We are glad that you found us and had such a good time. As well as the Easter craft day we also have children's crafts every Thursday in the summer holiday, the October half term and just before Christmas. Visit our website for dates and times. The museum is a listed building so large signs would be a problem but... More

Great place for the children and they learnt a lot of history about Hornsea. We especially liked the history of Rose Carr which we had learnt abit about from the stay at our B&B.

We took our two guests to visit Hornsea Museum which we have not visited for many years, in fact it was decades ago since I last looked round. Sadly, due to our guests having to leave to travel home we did not have enough time to see it all but what we saw was really interesting. There was also a... More

Thank you for rating us so highly. Yes, except for prebooked group and school visits the museum is closed from October 30th 2016 until Easter 2017. We are pleased you enjoyed our museum and we look forward to your return visit. There is usually an information sheet in the parlour giving an explanation of some of the exhibits. The Donderglass... This is only a small museum in some old farm buildings on the main street but it is nicely laid out. There are rooms set out to show life in the past. Outside is a nice grassy area where you can sit or have a picnic. There are more rooms outside, I especially like the railway room. Well worth the... More

Whilst being a small museum, it is worth a visit as nicely laid out. Good selection of artefacts and information on boards local to the area. The hornsea pottery exhibition is very good.

Great museum nice for all ages. Good general interest with some specifics about the area. Extensive collection of Hornsea Pottery and background to the factory. Lovely gift shop and fair entry price. Would recommend.
