Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a family day on Clonea Beach during the recent hot weather. It was a beautiful sandy beach and made for safe swimming. It brought back memories of going there on family holidays in my youth - a long time ago. Highly recommended.

Was told about this beach by the manager of the hotel we were staying in and we weren't disappointed. Like most days in July 2020 it was raining when we were there but it didn't stop mine or other children enjoying the water. It's a very safe beach for children with the water not getting deep for a long way out. There seemed to be organised water sports a bit further up the beach which looked like fun but we didn't participate.

We visited this beach during the really hot week in July. There was a lovely breeze off the sea to keep us cool. It was thronged with people but lots of space to walk and paddle. Parking was scarce given the numbers. Public toilets were very clean.

Visited this beach for a quick dip while on a stag weekend with a large group. It was exactly the medicine we needed after cycling from Waterford. If you are doing the Greenway cycle make sure you visit Clonea Beach!

Lovely beach ! Unfortunately we had a campervan and there is absolutely nowhere to park . A very large field owned by a local shop allows car parking but not campers . We asked permission to park for an hour or two to get a walk and swim and then move on . We were more than willing to pay whatever was asked - but flatly refused. It was mid week and the field was almost empty.
Whatever happened to Ireland of the welcomes !!
If you have a campervan stay away from this area.

Great beach. Roomy beach with plenty of space for people even on a busy sunny day. Water shallow for a good bit so very safe for all the family to swim in. Water v clean. Small shop sells fast food and other newsagent supplies including ice creams!

This long and sandy back is not far from Dungarvan and one sign on the street points towards it. It’s fairly easy to miss, though, as we drove past it at first as well.

It was really lovely in May already, so I bet that it's rather busy in summer!

Love this beach. Has to be one of the nicest in the country. It’s a blue flag beach. It’s well kept and has some great amenities. Has public toilets and outdoor showers. Great shops and chippers. Great parking faculties. It’s just a shame that the hotel in run badly and not open to the public. It has an amazing campsite 5 star well run and has everything u would need. The beach though is amazing. Great access for everyone with ramps at all sides of the beach. Great water sports activities that run camps in the summer. Life guards have a great set up there. The beach is long and gave different sections. Past the rocks at the east side of the beach just past the Newline car park there is smaller part of the beach that is quiet and perfect for nudist to hang out.

After our big breakfast we wanted to walk it off and no better way than a beach walk.
The weather was fine for our walk and the beach was in immaculate condition. No rubbish could be seen left lying around. The tide was going out so there was plenty of sand on view.

Big beach, plenty of space to spread out safely from people.

The water is clean and doesn't get deep too quickly.

Excellent toilet facilities at either end of the beach. Always clean and well-stocked.
