Beautiful beach great for my young kids no extra shops to tease them. There was a shop for teas and coffee and snacks kids stuff for sand , newspapers and such .Very quiet but also kids still at school so that was probably why.

Used to love this beach but there is nothing there now only an over priced shop. Only good thing is there is plenty of room on the beach now where before it used to be very crowded.

As good as anywhere in the sunny southeast it has a safe beach. Long picturesque walks. Hotel along side. Lifeguards in the summer. Near the new greenway between Dungarvan and Waterford. A nice place to stop for a picnic.

Fantastic hard beach for walking. Parking only drawback. Now overlooked by new Waterford Greenway, cycle/walkway going from Dungarvan to Waterford opened Spring 2017 46km. Beautiful beaches including Clonea visible from greenway.

I am traveling with my very spry 87 yr old mom. Where would you suggest to park to be closest to the beach and is there a steep slope and/or many steps to the beach. ? lastly are there restrooms in the area?

The Gold Coast hotel has a private car park access directly beside the beach. They will give you the code to the gate at the car park. There is a proper walkway/footpath to the beach and restrooms are on this walkway.
