Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Any one who has the slightest interest in the History of Dungarvan must visit this church and grave yard. I would suggest before your visit that you check out St Mary's Church of Ireland on YouTube.

A simple yet pleasant glimpse into the past. This well loved site is a treasure to visit and provides a wonderful break from the typical tourist type attractions.

An old Norman church and graveyard with flowers blooming amongst the graves, against the backdrop of Dungarven Bay. If you can't take good photos here, sell your camera.

A lovely lovely and very interesting graveyard but what really caught my eye was an enscription on one head stone which read 'and the cow flew over the moon' all i could do was laugh and say a prayer for Mrs Wendy H----- who was at rest there.

This area is definitely worth a visit during a walk of this wonderful town. Set next to the inlet it has quite a peaceful and picturesque location. Excellent photos to be had with the wall of the old church in the background. To know more of the history of the area visit the museum first, it will give you more of and understanding/idea of the mass grave of the Moresby ship wreck of 1895.

St Mary's Church of Ireland in Dungarvan is less than 5 minutes walk from the Main Street. Beside the main Church car park entrance is a pedestrian gate (always open). Follow the path inside and you will discover one of Dungarvan's hidden secrets.

It is a graveyard (not everyone's cup of tea), but the view from the graveyard at the far side of the church is amazing in fine weather. It is a very peaceful place, full of history.

There is a large medieval wall in the graveyard with several unusual round openings. When Cromwell visited Dungarvan he blew up the Church, and this is what remains.

When we visited (summer 2016), much of the graveyard was carpeted in thousands of daisies. It is a lovely spot for a ramble.

One of the oldest continuous religious sites in County Waterford. Grounds and surrounds lovingly tended by local volunteers.
There is an interesting curved path through the centre of the graveyard, this was a former right of way for local fishermen.
