Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful old church and graveyard overlooking Dungarvan Bay. Very calm and spent twenty minutes here admiring the local swift colony, a rare sight in Ireland. Grounds were immaculate. A real hidden gem in the heart of Dungarvan Town

I loved my time spent wandering the grounds of this beauiful old church overlooking the sea in Dungarvan, close to the area called The Lookout.
The graveyard is really well kept and has some beautiful trees, shrubs and headstones. It is dominated by the towering remains if the pre-reformation Church on the site, of which just the one wall still stands.
The Church of St Mary's itself was not open on my visit, I'm not sure if that is due to Civid restrictions of just that I was here at a bad time. Nevertheless it's worth a visit for its serenity, the sea views and that stunning fruited wall.

One of the oldest continuous religious sites in County Waterford. Grounds and surrounds lovingly tended by local volunteers.
There is an interesting curved path through the centre of the graveyard, this was a former right of way for local fishermen.

A lovely zone with remnants of two earlier churches and the present 18th century church. It must be a very hallowed place to have worship over such a long period of time.

Came upon this gem when in Dungarvan. Church is obviously very old and in remarkable condition for its age. Wandered around grave yard and was struck by the number of young children who died early 1900. Lovely position overlooking the sea. Worth a visit.

A lovely lovely and very interesting graveyard but what really caught my eye was an enscription on one head stone which read 'and the cow flew over the moon' all i could do was laugh and say a prayer for Mrs Wendy H----- who was at rest there.

We walked around the church and graveyard and learned a lot about the area. The graveyard is very old but stills interns people so the history goes from the 1800 to 2017.

We found this church very interesting historically. You could spend hours reading all the literature relating to Dungarvan. Well worth a visit if you like that stuff.
