About
Organic vineyard and winery. Wine tastings and estate tours can be booked all year round on our website, we only close on Sundays. All visits at Col d'Orcia include a tour to discover the estate and the ageing cellars, followed by a tailored wine tasting, that can be accompanied by a light lunch / aperitif or full lunch. Wine tastings start from a minimum of two wines (basic tasting includes our current Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino) onwards. We offer a variety of wines that date back to 1965, and the possibility to experience both vertical and horizontal tastings. The price of the visit depends on the variety and quantity of the wines you are planning to enjoy. If you do not have time to book a visit at Col d'Orcia, feel free to drop by from Monday to Saturday, 8,30 a.m.- 12,30 p.m. and 2,30 p.m. - 6,30 p.m. Book on our website.

A lovely afternoon tasting at an organic vineyard
Feb 2020
We recently visited for a tour and tasting and enjoyed it immensely. Our guide was very informative and the grounds were lovely, even in winter. I have a gluten allergy, and so they made sure to offer me gluten free salami and prosciutto with my wine tasting, which was very considerate (we informed them about my allergy ahead of time). The wines themselves were excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Much less expensive than buying Brunello in the U.S. from a retail shop.

A fantastic tasting
May 2019 • Friends
We were here for a great tasting with a wine club. A great selection of Brunello vintages, topped by a 1990 Poggio, and the while thing lead by the Count himself made this to an almost religious experience. Probably the best tasting ever.

It Was Still Great

Have you ever wondered how an “organic” wine will age? I do! We spent a wonderful day at this vineyard back in 2016 and bought a 2002 Brunello. Old friends came to visit and we enjoyed the wine immensely. After 17 years it was better than great.

Excellent wine & lunch

Beautiful property with excellent wines. The 2001 Poggio reserva was especially good. We had a private lunch and the food was fantastic.

Organic winery and estate in glorious Tuscany
Oct 2017
This is a beautifully maintained winery in a lovely location. The grounds are a joy and the buildings classic in style but modern in appointments. We had a splendid, generously poured tasting with accompanying plates in an open, airy tasting room. (The cured venison was brilliant as were the estate grown chick peas.) The gracious owner who led the tasting is enormously and justifiably proud of the introduction of organic farming and viticulture. One of the many highlights of our five day Arblaster and Clarke Tuscan wine tour.

Great Estate, tour and tasting

Wonderful tour and tasting of organically produced wine with Marcella. Return visit with Nicola who provided additional insight. Purchased several wines for drinking locally and taking home. Recommend highly. Reservation by email or phone recommended.

Beautiful vineyard!!! Really good wines!!
Sep 2017 • Friends
Col d'Orcia has a lovely vineyard!!! It inspires tranquility and peace. The tour is really good and Jessica, the guide, was really nice and conducted a very interesting tour. We tried several wines and they were all good. Ended up buying a few bottles of their Brunello.

More than a wine tasting
Jul 2017 • Couples
A very informative visit hosted by Jessica who was excellent and who went deeply into the background of this vineyard but also the history of Brunello Di Montalcino. The time looking round the property ended with a tasting of some of the superb wines of Col D'orcia.

So and so

Stunning estate, great knowledge, lots of history. These are some of the things that have to be said.

We didn't feel really appreciated as guests though. Maybe it was because of our age, the crappy car we drive or the clothes we wore but something made us feel unwanted. The man who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and talked to us with respect but he kind of rushed through the wine cellars to go on with the tasting. Once he heard that we didn't want to buy any special wines he quickly rushed out and sent someone else to assist with the tasting.
That lady was very kind but a little bored with the story she must have told a thousand times.

We tasted four wines of which one brunello. Most important, the wines were great.
The prices seem fair.
Tip: try the Banditella, we loved it and bought a case!
