About
This bay served as a filming location to the movie 'Guns of Navarone', which was starred by the bay's namesake, Anthony Quinn. Here, you can rent a pedal boat to zip through the waters or chill on a lounge chair and bask in the glorious Greek sun.
The beach sits adjacent to Ladiko Beach and you can park for free between both beaches—but get there early in the morning to secure a spot. Alternatively, hop on the public bus from the village of Rhodes or take a boat tour around the island and stop for a refreshing splash here.

- niks216London, United Kingdom257 contributionsBeautiful but combine with Kounna for lunch and Ladiko BayUndoubtedly beautiful bay but limited places to sit. It’s mostly finding a space on rocks or pebbles. Perhaps best to go early in the morning. By afternoon the beach area is mostly shade. They have tacky pedaloes there, swans etc. guaranteed to ruin a beautiful picture. Come here in the morning. Have lunch at Kounna then go to ladiko in the afternoon which is walking distance from AQVisited October 2022Travelled with familyWritten 28 January 2023
- KikiLondon, United Kingdom23 contributionsJust like out of the filmBreathtaking beautiful scenery lovely beach. Bit to busy for me lovely setting. Only one cafe eatery so can get very busy with tourist . Views are beautiful need a car to get to this beach but it’s worth visiting as the film was made there and there’s history . I would recommend defo.Visited May 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 20 May 2023
- Keira M7 contributionsGorgeous Bay!Absolutely beautiful!! Loads of fish about and crystal clear waters, it is so pretty and great to swim in. Very Salty though more than the other bays it felt. It was lovely however it does get very busy with lots of boats, fishermen, jet skis and other water-sports.Visited June 2023Written 7 June 2023
- Sébastien DSeine-et-Marne, France600 contributionsMust See !Very nice bay where the film with Anthony Queen was managed The Bay is fantastic with crystal water and so many fish below the surface It is a Must See of the island but the best way to do it is with a boat as the beach is very small a d very busy. . If you want a nice tip is also to rent a boat to go there. It is cheaper than a cruise. Close to the bay you have Seals House which isxa giant inside cavern where the seals come. Please di not disturb and keep yourself outside of the caveVisited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 July 2023
- Hester BGreater London, United Kingdom11 contributionsQuite nice bayThis is a lovely bay for swimming in, especially if you get there early. Bigger than Ladiko Bay which it is immediately next to, and frankly I don’t think there’s much difference in terms of prettiness. There are some nice short walking trails which give some spectacular views. There’s lots of space around the beach and the edge of the bay for sun beds and umbrellas but they’re expensive at €30 a day for 2 beds and one umbrella. Further round to along the southern edge it feels a bit like sunbathing in a quarry (I think it actually was) as there’s less vegetation and the rock face is bare. You might find some small spaces around the bay to set up your own shop-bought umbrella if you want, which works out cheaper if you’re going to be there for a few days. Good for snorkelling. The restaurant there is pretty, plays quite loud clubby music, and serves basic food. Quite expensive though as you’re basically a captive audience. There’s very little other choice for food and drink within walking distance so it’s worth considering taking your own snacks. Accessible by road and there is car parking. Gets very busy with day trip boats. I counted 20+ boats at one point, so if you are staying locally, make the effort to go early in the morning and you’ll be treated to a beautifully tranquil bay virtually to yourself.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 July 2023
- tobias å2 contributionsIts okIts a lovely bay. But dont go here if you expect peace and calm! Very busy and they bay is full of touristboats that honk their horn. And yes the price for sundbeds is silly 30 euro. Sadly all of rhodes is like this and next year i will choose another island that dont ripp offVisited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 July 2023
- Flyer387235068422 contributionsHoneymoonWent to rhodes for our honeymoon. The bay was lovely although only one cafe, the man walking up the beach with fresh fruit and doughnuts was a gem. Taxis won't come here, buses are nowhere near and you have to walk miles to get to the bus stop. The views are gorgeous but the beach was disappointingVisited August 2022Travelled with familyWritten 21 July 2023
- AgatheB2013Warsaw, Poland9 contributionsPicturesque place but too expensiveThe bay is really beautiful, however 30 eur per sun bed with umbrella is too much, 15 euros if you don’t need an umbrella (but when it’s near 40 degrees outside, trust me you need one. If you don’t want to pay, still you can find a spot to leave your things and just jump into the water. The best is to come for about one or two hours, there’s nothing else to do, just a picturesque place for instagram photosVisited July 2023Travelled soloWritten 26 July 2023
- travellingmarvelling14 contributionsBeautiful and busy bayArrived with Royal Sailing Rhodes who as part of a boat tour stopped here so we could swim. The tour wasn't able to drop us off though which would have been better for those of us who wanted to walk on the beach. The bay itself is very picturesque with clear clean water but this makes it busy during peak season with a lot of boats stopping by.Visited July 2023Written 29 July 2023
- petalbellNorth Yorkshire, United Kingdom11 contributionsJust a fly by visitThis is a very picturesque bay and we wanted to go as it is also quite famous. The car park was a free for all and very hard to park in. Once parked you had some steps to take you down to the bay which is small. There are sunloungers to hire with umbrellas at a cost of 30 euros. There is nothing else there except a lot of people and boats. Overall it was nice to see it but not somewhere peaceful to while away a few hours.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 August 2023

The bay was extremely crowded and polluted, no space to swim as it was clogged with tourist boats. Bits of oil slicked out : a disgusting and disheartening sight as the beach must have once been a beautiful sight. Very overrated; felt like every boat on the island was crammed there. Do not believe the fantasy the tourist offices try to sell you and don't go! Ladiko beach just behind is a better alternative.

Fabulous location for snorkelling and swimming, we enjoyed that much we when back twice in our one week holiday. Small secluded bay with refreshments and facilities near by. Recommend any early arrival to get best visibility of fish over water and benefit from the sunshine before the beach area goes into shade.

We hired a boat for the day from a nearby beach and anchored here for a few hours and had lunch and wine on the boat, also enjoyed a swim in the warm sea. Its a beautiful location both from the boat and when looking down onto the bay from Lindos town. Its just beautiful.

An amazing and recommended place, only the way there is a bit problematic, and in peak seasons it is very crowded, so it is recommended to go early

Beautiful little bay. There is a taverna overlooking the bay with good food and chilled atmosphere. We hired a boat and dropped anchor in the bay, there's also a car park behind the taverna that serves Anthony Quinn Bay and Ladiko Bay which is also worth a visit.
Very popular with various tours, so sit and chill at the bay facing taverna tables and watch the visiting pirate ships, yellow submarines, and catermerans, or hire a car shaped pedalo.

Anthony Quinn Bay in Rhodes is a hidden gem that offers a perfect beach experience. With its beautiful bay and easy access to the sea, it's an ideal spot for snorkeling. We were amazed by the abundance of fish we encountered while exploring the crystal-clear waters. The beach itself is picturesque, with golden sands and a tranquil atmosphere. While facilities are minimal, the natural beauty of the bay more than compensates. If you're looking for a stunning beach to relax and snorkel in Rhodes, don't miss the opportunity to visit Anthony Quinn Bay. It's a true paradise for beach lovers and underwater enthusiasts.

A beautiful beach with amazing views and clear water. Various places to stay at the beach, all cost the same price (30 euros to an umbrella and two sun beds, in the afternoon it was for free but I guess not in the season).

Beautiful part of the world with great swimming and 1960's The Guns of Navarone was filmed here for the film buffs, the locals decided to name this beach after the lead actor of the movie, Anthony Quinn, a must visit whilst in the area.

There is no specific place to park cycles or motorbikes. Bear in mind that the parking is an unmade area (no asphalt).
