Black sand beach

Had a few lazy days on the beach, making use of the free sunbeds and umbrellas. Although it was the end of summer, it was warm enough to swim, and everywhere was clean

The wind is was fierce, but we walked for several miles on the beach from one area to another. Sunbathers were very friendly and the view was spectacular. Our feet did get sore from the sharpness of the wet sand.

We traveled to Perissa by boat from Kamari beach. It takes only 15 minutes and it is a lovely boat ride. Otherwise you need to take the bus to Fira and then to Perissa which takes a long time. The beach is similar to Kamari beach, but seemed a bit wider and longer. It's also black pebble beach. There are... More

Easy to find a quiet spot in October, sea beautiful to swim in although you have to beware the sudden drop at low tide.

Just stunning and great laid back atmosphere, please be aware that current is strong in places. Sunrise is beautiful.

This is way overdue, but, I was here 2 years ago in the month of May, and missing this place now. Walking on the beautiful black sand was therapeutic. The weather was cool back then, yet the sand still felt warm and amazing. Nice place to chill and relax. Peaceful too.

We took the bus from Fira which took about 45 mins on the way there but on the return trip the driver obviously wanted to get back for his tea as it took half the time. At only €2.40 one way per person it's a bargain. Under 7's go free. Sadly it was a very windy day and the gritty... More

Had a chilled afternoon here right at the very and of the season including lunch at Demilmar on the beach (but at least a drink and you get the sunbeds etc for free). Probably extremely busy at the height of the season though!!!

This beach has sand and sea. In the sea you can see fish. On the beach there are sun beds and umbrellas. The men on this beach wear swimming trunks or swimming shorts. The women on this beach wear bikinis, swimming costumes or only their bikini bottoms. When it is sunny the sand gets really hot, so hot I had... More

We visited for the day, a peaceful quiet beach. A very long stretch of Beach, with restaurants and bars. Plenty to do.
