If you come from Moustier, have a stop at the lac Sainte Croix and only then you can attack La Route des Cretes by car. There are several places to stop and take some wonderful pictures.

This route is a must do when you visit the gorges du Verdon with great views but do start the right way (clockwise)as going the wrong way round will lead you to turning around as the road becomes a one way road !

The views got us stunned over and over and over. Just amazing. Make sure you look up as well as down, so you get to see the eagles flying over your head as well. Beautiful experience.

The D23, which is a loop road, is not spectacular. We drove all the way to the gorge from Nice to do this route and we were very underwhelmed. The river is like a small stream when seen from above. If you have seen the...More

A not-to-be-missed excursion that will give you some of the best views going of the Verdon gorge, at least without use of ropes, that is! A good way of getting your bearings of the region too. The road is bi-directional for the first bit, then...More

A must see drive when you are in this area. We took the clockwise route from the village of Palud (follow the sign) which went for about 7 km and then there was a "no entry" sign saying that the road was closed. However, we...More

Spectacular scenery. With stops it takes a couple of hours. Definitely compares well with anything that the USA has in its National Parks. Definitely the highlight of the holiday. The route is not as scarey as described in the Rough Guide.

This circuit inspires fear and awe in equal measure. Narrow roads, tortuous bends and steep inclines and descents are the order of the day. Every minute is worth the effort. The views are spectacular anevthe sight of soaring eagles is uplifting. Their calls to each...More

You can see it on a map. It's a round trip starting near La Palud Sur Verdon and end around the same place. Part of the road is one way drive. It's well indicated on site. Hope it helps!
