These beaches are great for surfing and even just laying out and catching sun. The high tide is really high. And at night there is no light on the beach so beware of that. These beaches are really saturated with mostly young surfers and yoga...More

The beaches are beautiful here. This is somewhat of a younger surf town but has a lot of character. We enjoyed the local shopping and restaurants here. Everyone is so friendly. Have to say that the streets are a little rough, many pothole ridden gravel...More

We stayed here for about 10 days in 2 different hotels. The town has a relaxed surfer vibe and that's the main attraction the local surf which can be excellent. Playa Carmen is a more gentle break. Grab a surf guide and get out there....More

Forbes Magazine rated Playa Santa Teresa as a top 10 beach in the world. It is gorgeous. You can walk for miles. The surfers are incredible. The beach isn't crowded in July. I love seeing the dogs playing in the water with their owners.

I would suggest playa Hermosa. it's just north of Santa Teresa. the beaches right at Santa Teresa break right on the beach and to catch the waves you have to go out quite a ways which can be intimidating for beginners. playa... More

October is really not the best time to go. Yes a lot of rain, and sometimes the roads are washed out from the heavy rain. The business are not all open since it is low season.
