I've tried to keep this a secret for many years but the cat is obviously out of the bag. Thankfully, the beach is still the most beautiful, long, white sand beach ever. Great waves. Beautiful vibe.

Beatiful broad beach with lots of surfing going on. Its a bit too crowded for my taste. I prefer the quietness of Montezuma on the other side but ofcause Montezuma dont have the spectacular sunsets. If you dont mind a bit of activity around you,...More

These beaches are great for surfing and even just laying out and catching sun. The high tide is really high. And at night there is no light on the beach so beware of that. These beaches are really saturated with mostly young surfers and yoga...More

We stayed here for about 10 days in 2 different hotels. The town has a relaxed surfer vibe and that's the main attraction the local surf which can be excellent. Playa Carmen is a more gentle break. Grab a surf guide and get out there....More

Forbes Magazine rated Playa Santa Teresa as a top 10 beach in the world. It is gorgeous. You can walk for miles. The surfers are incredible. The beach isn't crowded in July. I love seeing the dogs playing in the water with their owners.

October is really not the best time to go. Yes a lot of rain, and sometimes the roads are washed out from the heavy rain. The business are not all open since it is low season.

Most roads in Costa Rica are paved and decent. The main road "highway" from San Jose all the way to Liberia, Guanacaste is good and paved. Take the ferry from Punta Arenas to the penisula. A long portion of the road down... More
