We stumbled on this area while taking a drive through the Highlands. So GLAD WE DID! There's a little $2.00 fee to park. The 2mile loop trail takes you to the most spectacular views. We did the whole loop and, unless you're in GREAT shape,...More

Took about an hour uphill the entire way up the mountain so it was a great workout but not strenuous. Saw a ton of young kids walking it so it's definitely doable. View at the top was amazing and the walk down was a nice...More

There is a car park at the bottom of the walk, which starts with a few steps and is a steady climb the the top and great views over the surrounding countryside.

The best spots near Whiteside are both approximately 3-4 miles west of Highlands off Highway 64 west, to wit: Cliffside Recreation Area and Van Hook Glade. Both have nice campsites with views of Cliffside Lake.
