This is one of the great walks/tramps you should do especially as a New Zealander. The only drawback was the number of people on the Crossing. We did a Saturday and there must have been a 1000 doing it. The scenery is awesome especially on...More

We were a few days into our North Island road trip and I was so excited to do this hike. Unfortunately for us the weather did not cooperate...we took the 5:45am shuttle to get an early start (since the weather forecast called for no rain...More

Not for the faint of heart, and you won't be along on this day long (6 hour) hike, but you will see things you cannot see anywhere else in the world.

This was fantastic, completed with my Dad and partner, none of us were super fit. Magnificent views, especially on a great day. We did this in April and wasn’t too hot, but did still get sunburnt. Hardest part is the last 9ks, slow and downhill...More

For the over 60s. Yes, you can do it! We are both 65 and of reasonable fitness. Nothing too strenuous but we enjoy walking with a small ‘w’. For those from the UK we like to walk in the Lakes and have done the biggies...More

A fantastic day walk with amazing views. A tough challenge for our young children, but they did it and were super chuffed with their achievements. If you want to do it with you kids, take a guide.

We had a really bad weather forecast but decided to go. I would not have gone if the shuttle from our accomodation would say it's too dangerous. The Discovery lodge where we stayed informed us very well and checked our hiking gear. Better to go...More
