It’s amazing what this world can create. This cave is a wonderful example. It’s family friendly place, and our tour guide was great. Just arrive early, as you need to check in at the glow worm cave building (a 5 minute drive away).

Our tour guide was lovely and walked us through at an easy, unhurried pace. The formations are beautiful and it really is something to see. I did the 3 cave combo- Waitomo glow caves, Aranui and Ruakuri. There is something to get out of each,...More

Kia ora, thanks for taking the time to review us. Our caves are open to all ages so everyone can experience the unique beauty of the caves. However unfortunately there were some unsettled children in your group, this can be unavoidable at times. We will...More

Our guide, Devon, rocked up five minutes late, walked us to the entrance and told us he was basically going to let us walk through and back again with minimal interaction with him. He wasn't lying! He didn't tell us anything at all about the...More

I'd heard that this was a pretty impressive cave. Turns out it wasn't really, certainly a lot less impressive than others around the world.

Kia Ora, Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear you did not enjoy this tour. Maybe if you intend to visit again, you can try one of our other cave tours or one of our more adventurous tours to get the thrilling experience.

Go here as well as, or instead of, the other caves. This one is not privately run and it was fantastic. Lovely walk through the ferntrees to get there, see the big wettas (insects) in the first chamber, and take your time on the tour...More

Aranui Cave is one of the shorter tours available for a medium sized groups. Our guide Steven seemed a little relaxed at first but turned out to be a cool and resourceful guy. We saw a couple of baby wetas so can hardly count that...More

This was the last of our caves for the day and even though it is smaller than Ruakuri and didn't have the glow worms it was still interesting. Recommend going to all 3 caves so you can really experience the difference in this wonderful underground.

Our Aranui tour (2.30 PM, 11.7.18) guide was 10 minutes late and poorly presented. He seemed bored and his spiel was minimal and with zero flair. Whole trip was about half an hour, instead of the 1 hour allowed on official website. No cave wetas...More
