It was very cool to see these caves and the glowing worms. It was a bit unreal in the beginning because it just looked like LED lights randomly placed in the caves, but when you got closer it was so cool to see actual worms glowing! This is a must do thing.

This experience involved a guided group tour of one of the cave systems and a boat ride through a number of caverns with glow worms. It was a really interesting experience but very busy and felt quite rushed and commercial. However overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick tour of the waitomo caves.

My family and I throughly enjoyed this adventure. I have two teenage kids who loved this tour as much as we did. The whole experience was relaxed (floating on your back to look at glow worms), history (lots of local and geological info) and fun (the underwater slide) with safety calmly threaded through all the instructions - thanks Robin. Thank you very much Clara for the trip! Clara is a very good local guide, knowing everything from her country. The cave is wonderful, beautiful scenery. We can be very closed to the cute glowworm and see their ice and long fishing line. And the best at the end is to taste the famous Kawakawa tea, it is very delicious.... More

Great family owned business. Reception ladies were funny and friendly. We booked in for the black labrynth that got cancelled so this was our next shot. We are so glad that it got cancelled and we met rich. He made the trip. Such a funny guy. Great flow worms and nice little challenges along the way.

My wife and I (early 60's) thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. Being able to lie on your tube and look up at the glow worms was breathtaking. Talking of breathtaking, take particular notice when told to close your mouth and hold your nose as you go down the slide. Lots of complementary photos are taken which is a nice touch and... More

We did the Footwhistle night tour and there were only four of us in the group so it was a great experience! Our guide, Rich, was very knowledgable and patient with our questions and photos. We learned a lot about the surrounding area, the plants growing around the cave and everything there is to know about the cave itself and... More

Lovely family owned and run business. Guides were super nice and the overall experience was perfect for the family. Only point of criticism is the time and the price. We spent about 45 mins in the cave system, but the price is high in comparison to other trips you could take. This was the l my one that allowed our... More

The glow worms were so cool. The staff were really nice and helpful. The whole adventure was awesome. Definitely worth getting wet. They even take photos for you and you keep them at the end.

Two of my family members did this great guide. Friendly staff. But the brochure says its a two hour trip with 1.25 hours in the caves they left at 3 and they were back by 4.30 ? So they spent time getting changed into wet suites in the cave and the climb back up the stairs and return to town.... More
