The tour was much more than we expected, a full explanation of the wildlife; fish, foul and mammal. In addition, the history of the area, the economics of what's happening in the Cape Breton and some comments on the politics both north and south of...More

We took the Bird Island Boat Tour. I really wanted to see the Puffins but didn't know that they migrate around the end of July. Saw other species, bald eagles, cormorants, and mustn't forget those seals. We enjoyed our tour very much. It was a...More

I've always wanted to see a puffin, and we saw plenty. Captain Vince Van Schaick was very knowledgeable about wildlife and was able to identify and spot the many types of birds on the island.

This was a very educational 2.5 hour trip to the islands and we learned a lot about many birds. It was a comfortable boat and restrictions on where you could go or what you could do were minimum. The captain and his son were certainly...More

I believe I had been very lucky in that I had seen lots of North Atlantic sea birds during other trips. This trip, whilst enjoyable, did not have the vast array I had seen elsewhere. I suppose for other participants it was excellent. We did...More

The Bird Island Tour was great. We saw puffins, bald eagles, grey seals and many other sea birds. The captain and his co captain told us many facts about the birds. The water can be rough so be careful if you get seasick.

Thankfully we booked ahead as the boat only takes a maximum of 20 passengers. The boat was very comfortable with large viewing windows and a continuous commentary from Captain Ian and his deckie was appreciated by all. We saw 11 different birds and seals as...More

My son and I are avid wildlife photographers so we booked the photographers tour. The photographer tours have less people to allow for a bit more movement onboard. The tour operators were very knowledgable and would accommodate the patrons by taking a second pass at...More

Yes, you can bring a babe in a carrier . Both our boys were on the boat before their first birthday. Very safe, and they tend to fall asleep with the rocking motion. Sheila
