The valley and the village of Vinales are nice to visit, for people interested to explore the Cuban countryside, the plantations, the cave. I found no historical interest. This is not to diminish the pleasant drive along the places.

We stayed in Casa Daniel y Estela on the left hand side just as you go into Vinales just across from the Antonio Guiteras community hall. Estala asked us if we wanted to go into the valley on horseback and we thought that would be...More

Valle is just amazing! We hiked on our own and it was really breath taking. We started at Vinales visitor centre and walked in the direction of Mural de la Prehistoria. It is a nice hike few kilometers long.

This is a great place to stay. It is a private house with very good conditions, perfect lodging to be in contact with nature. Great food and great prices.

Far surpassed my expectations. The valley is breathe-taking. I'm only sorry we went for just one day. I definitely recommend spending the night if you're able. Also horseback riding! We went with VisitaVinales - they're not yet on TA - everything was superb. The horses...More

The visit to the park is absolutely worth it and horse riding is a lot of fun with the right guide. The visit to the coffee/rum/honey can be avoided all together. The visit to the tobacco plantation and cigar maker was an absolute highlight. So...More

Took a tour bus from The Hotel National in Havana to the Vinales valley. Stoped at a rum factory. We then went to a cigar plantation and watched a fourth generation farmer roll cigars that you could purchase for $2.00 a cigar. We then had...More

Three hours drive from Havana, this region is beautiful. Rolling and sometimes dramatic hills and mountains. On the spur of the moment we decided to go on an hour's horseriding tour through the valley, and it was well worth it. We are completely inexperienced, and...More

Amazing views to the mogotes. Horseride with helpful guide and calm horses. Excellent stay by Koki y Ani. We made a long walk on our own, a farmer helped us finding the path. So much to see and to enjoy, surrounded by fantastic nature. Very...More

It’s a fun activity to escape the tediously grimy and dilapidated buildings of Havana- we rented horses at the last minute via recommendation from our airbnb host. Two caballeros took two of us to the tobacco and coffee farm and to swim in the caves....More

Our host from casa arranged a trip for us. We went to see a cigar farm when we went riding horses. Cigars were 4 to 8€. But we don’t smoke so I can’t tell you about the quality.

Vinales was the last stop of our 10 day tour through Cuba. Vinales is about 3 hrs from Havana and I'm guessing a tour can be arranged. One advise we had was to agree the price before hand to avoid surprises.

No, you don't have to be experienced horse-rider. The horses follow each other. Please, make sure that the horses are well treated by the guide. Also, consider a hike tour instead of horse riding - a lot more pleasurable and... More
