Very scenic milecastle, especially viewed from the raised part of Hadrians Wall where the quarry was cut through. The quarry is beautiful too and set amongst native flora, which attract an abundance of wildlife.

Very quiet car park with lovely gentle walk round the quarry lake up to the Wall. There are amazing views of the countryside and Hadrian's wall.

Walked through on Hadrians Wall walk. A good place to look at the wall if you have a small amount of time. Well looked after and typical of the rest

This seemed to be the easiest trailhead access to Hadrian's wall that i could find from my place in Whitfield. Early on a Sunday morning (7am-ish) I had it all to myself.

The wall is just a few minutes from the car park and the views from here are stunning. Certainly one of the most intact sections of the wall. We didn't do the proper walk just wandered up to have a look, and spent about 40...More

From here to Housesteads is the most intact part of the wall and is a lovely walk especially if it is dry. It is not difficult for regular walkers but I imagine it might be a bit tricky in wet weather given the terrain. It’s...More
