This is a magical Plaza. Rather a ramshackle assemblage of ancient buildings forming a rough ovoid around a circular area used for fairs, markets, festivals, executions, and the ritualistic torment and murder of young cattle. I will not tolerate the defense of this as being time - honoured and part of the town's patrimony. The auto de fe, witch hunting... More

We came here for an evening meal, and had the opportunity to walk around the town first. Very attractive back streets, small shops, and the Plaza Mayor set out for a bullfight which was to take place the next day. Useful tourist office. Old castle ruins not really accessible.

a town square so full of character and colour. We spent a sunny day wandering around the small town...visiting various shops and cafe's. Grand for people watching from one of the many balconies. The square really comes into its own at night with delightful bars and restaurants to choose from. We will certainly return here another year. You must buy... More

When we visited it was converted to a bull ring (running of the bulls was planned for the next Sunday). Place felt as the time have stopped hundreds of years ago. Nice.

Like stepping back in time 200 tears ago. Full of history and character. Definitely worth veering from the usual tourist route

You can have breakfast on the square and dinner upstairs on one of the many balconies. There are many different sights nearby such as churches, the castle and houses. I'd recommend staying one night in Chinchon enjoy the great atmosphere in the evening.

This is the only Plaza Mayor I've found that also doubles up as a Bull Ring. It is circular with a dirt/sandy floor. The architecture of the buildings surrounding it is amazing. They are double galleried. Loads of bars and restaurants around the square.

This is one of the best small Plaza Mayors I've seen in Spain. Very picturesque. There are a couple of cafe/bars to get something to eat or drink. However, this is a very small town with not a lot else to do, so I'd not make a special journey to see this

Just what we needed. Slow pace of life and such a relaxed atmosphere. All the bars/ restaurants offer good food and service.
