Told that the facility was closed but that they were having school groups visiting so it was suggested that we go and see if the door was open and if so to go on in. It was and yes there was a school group there. We went in and saw a very interesting collection of sea life. Its a maze... More

I was not looking forward to lunch at the aquarium when told that was the only place open midday on a Sunday. To my surprise we had an absolutely delicious meal! The cafe is really a separate part of the aquarium, so you're not looking at your salmon while eating it, as I had imagined :-) I had delicious smoked... More

About 20 tanks of local fish and an overabundance of star fish. English pamphlet describing each tank that is hard to read in the dimmed light. Nothing special.

Small yet wonderful filled with many interesting displays. Local fish caught by school children while in the aquarium's classes. Great cafe at the aquarium with delicious pastries.

There was a school trip in there when we went and it was nice to see all the children actively taking an interest in what was on offer. There were canoe/boat instructors outside also. A good few hours spent.

We were a littlebit disappointed by this museum. We learned quite a few new things on the Sognefjord (+) but the museum is a bit oldish and all explanation is in Norvegian only. There a booklets with a translation but in small print (not really useful in the semi-dark aquarium rooms).

We initially went to rent a row boat to row with the family however decided to stay and eat and have a look through the aquarium. The row boats were free with aquarium admission and although we had arranged this backward, the staff were very lovely and let us come rowing the following day for free. The tanks of the... More

The aquarium was rather smelly and grubby looking with poor AV facilities. The fish were interesting to look at and the outdoor cafe area has a great view. Rather expensive for what was on offer.

We got rained off our planned hiking trip so went here instead - interesting little aquarium with local fish etc, and for 70kr for an adult it is well priced for a rainy afternoon.

Small aquarium (30 tanks) with good displays and explanations. It was fascinating to see a variety of common and uncommon (at least to the US) sea life up close. You also get an hour of canoe or kayak rental in the entrance fee if you’d like.
