We enjoyed seeing and learning about the early citiziens of Sarteano. It is good to visit the museum before going to the Etruscan tombs.

The museum has local discoveries from the Etruscan era, including burial items and wall paintings. There is explanation in English. Fascinating and unusual.

You need to book tickets in advance from the museum to see the wall paintings. Guided tours take place at 9:30 and also in the afternoon on a Saturday only We were lucky to be in a party of 4. The guide had little english...More
