Climbed the tower with our three kids (3, 3 and 5 years), which went better than expected (they are used to stairs though). We came at 5pm, which probably was a good time as I suspect it can get crowded. Great views and very charming.

We walked up to the old town and paid to get into the Torre del Candeliere. The view of the old walls and the surrounding countryside was amazing. The stairs were a bit steep and tight for me (I'm 6'4") but I managed as did...More

Thank you for your comments on Torre del Candeliere . With a bit of patience and few steep steps to climb, you reach the top of the ancient building and enjoy a splendid panorama.

Visited with 3 & 5 yr old boys ! They loved climbing high, pretending to be soldiers whilst we were in awe of the views from both levels ! Not to be missed !

Thank you for your visit to the Tower of Candeliere and thanks also for the story of her childrens who have imagined intrepid soldiers. The Tower from these emotions too!

Quite cheap to get up in the clock tower and having a small walk on the wall. Excellent view from the top over the area and city of Massa Marittima.

Thank you so much for your review, visiting the Candlestick Tower is really an economical means to be able to travel with your eyes in a part of the Tuscan Maremma

Typical Italian ancient square in hilltop town in the Western part of Tuscany - lovely quiet place to mooch around. Especially good for couples on a relaxing break who enjoy sampling the history of the region.

I reluctantly agreed to claim this tower (just a few euros to get in) and what a surprise! It doesn't look very special from the outside compared to other towers in Tuscan villages and towns but the views are amazing and gives you access to...More

Torre del Candeliere is a short 10 minute walk up hill (just go uphill and you will find it) from the main square and duomo of Massa. It is definitely worth your time even if you are not a history buff. It dates back nearly...More
