Very interesting museum with a nice carriage collection in the cellar. The outstanding must to See are the gallerie of art in the beautiful rooms of the pallace! For me one of the best arranged galleries in Italy. Best value for your money!

Amazing surprise in Macerata
Jun 2018 • Solo
During a 2 1/2 day visit to Macerata, I visited this museum which has been a fantastic surprise to me. It exhibits a variety of carriages used during different centuries in this area of Le Marche and provides a very complete perspective not only of the carriages but on the social, economic and cultural heritage of Macerata. A must go, no doubt.

Great myseum

Great museum. Italian art of 14-18 centuries and contemporary art of 20th century. Best piece of the art is “Madonna with child” by Carlo Crivelli, 1473. The carriage museum is on the bottom. Very well maintained. Combined ticket to all three museums in Macherata cost only 7 Euro. Visit it from Friday through Sunday and you can go to the Palazzo Ricci Museum the same day too.

Very nice Museum
Aug 2017 • Couples
A meticulous layout, air conditioned and thoughtful presentation on what is a fairly limited subject- the history of the carraige.
Some nice examples of arraiges and you really get a feel for how it would be to have travelled in this fashion by experiencing the Virtual Carraige ride towards the end of the exhibition.

It is a limited subject however and after 10 minutes you generally ahve the gist of the history.
There are 2 other floors with the top being dedicated to modern art- a little underwheming and the 1st floor renaissance - an improvement with the main room being the highlight.
At only 3 Euros it is worth a visit but will only engage for 45 minutes or so.

Great museum with old masters, Renaissance art, and a collection of carriages. Much bigger inside than it appears on the outside.

Interesting display of horse drawn carriages through the ages. Nice friendly staff. Good modern and classical art galley above. Historic building with a fantastic view across Le Marche. Impressive statuary in the courtyard. Worth a visit.

Interesting museum and value for money in the historic center of the city
Jul 2016 • Solo
The place is worthwhile seing if you have some time. It has several floors, in the basement the museum of the carriage - separate review for this, and in other floors several works of art from different ages and from local artists, also some modern art collection. The entry to the interior hall is amazing with 3 fantastic statues.
Plus, the price of entry is quite small and you get discount if you visit other atractions in Macerata. It is not something outstanding, but interesting and the price seems right!

Beautifully and thoughtfully presented museum
Aug 2016 • Couples
This place was a lot more fun than it sounded. It is within the Civic museum, which is very reasonably priced entry. The Carriage museum is below ground level ,and it stunningly well displayed showing the development of carriages over the years. The exhibits are beautiful and the information is in italian and English. There is even a simulated carriage ride which can be enjoyed by adults as well as children.

Nice place, tells the story of the carriage over time in a simple way
Jul 2016 • Solo
This museum is the basement of Palazzo Buonaccorsi, so you share the same entry. You can see it together or separately with the rest of the museum in the top floors.
The museum is interesting, as it tells the story of the carriage over time, and then you can see some of the carriages from several eras and geographies. The carriages and well taken cared of and the lighting is interesting with very interesting effects.
In the last part, you can also enjoy a virtual carriage trip.
Overall, it is nice and also a learning experience, not spectacular! You can see it quickly, 15-20 minutes is more than enough.Price is also fair, 2-3 euros is ok for what you get.
Overall, don't expect too much, but it is worth a quick visit!

amazing !
Jul 2016
The museum (Palazzo) has 3 different parts : the museo degli carrozzi (amazing how well kept and also a good experience is the simulation of a voyage through the beautiful landscapes of Le Marche in ancient times), the modern art part and the stunning palazzo itself with its magnificent ceilings and doors, not to mention the many paintings and the atmosphere of the palazzo itself. We visited with children on a rainy day. Certainly worth a visit !
