Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can hardly visit a museum like this. There are coaches and other equipment for riding. Very nice layout. The peculiarity is that you can take a simulated trip with a coach to a village in the province of Macerata. Try it!

This is an excellent collection of art from medieval to modern, religious to secular. The decorations in the rooms (carved and painted ceilings, painted bands at the tops of the walls, etc.) of this former palace are equally fascinating. The evolution of modern art in Italy from traditionalism of the 1930s and 40s through periods of impressionistic/expressionistic art to truly abstract painting was very interesting.

This is a beautifully restored museum/art gallery, with high-spec intuitive interactive aids throughout and beautiful vistas over the nearby hills. It most famously houses a Carlo Crivelli painting "Madonna with Child" (1470), there are other gems to be seen too in the modern art gallery on the second floor.
In the basement is an extensive collection of carriages through the ages, the tour finishes off with a virtual carriage journey to various local destinations. We chose to go to Loro Piceno where we learnt about "Vino Cotto" while taking in the sights of the town. Excellent! Great value €3 ticket per adult entry. Opens Tuesday-Sunday 10.00 - 18.00.

A nice collection of carriages, coaches and related equipment. Everything with explanations, aesthetically well displayed, the best was the carriage ride simulator, everybody enjoyed! Though not huge collection of carriages (and not magnificent types like the ones in Lisbon and Vienna) but worth a visit!

Very interesting museum with a nice carriage collection in the cellar. The outstanding must to See are the gallerie of art in the beautiful rooms of the pallace! For me one of the best arranged galleries in Italy. Best value for your money!

During a 2 1/2 day visit to Macerata, I visited this museum which has been a fantastic surprise to me. It exhibits a variety of carriages used during different centuries in this area of Le Marche and provides a very complete perspective not only of the carriages but on the social, economic and cultural heritage of Macerata. A must go, no doubt.

Great museum. Italian art of 14-18 centuries and contemporary art of 20th century. Best piece of the art is “Madonna with child” by Carlo Crivelli, 1473. The carriage museum is on the bottom. Very well maintained. Combined ticket to all three museums in Macherata cost only 7 Euro. Visit it from Friday through Sunday and you can go to the Palazzo Ricci Museum the same day too.

A meticulous layout, air conditioned and thoughtful presentation on what is a fairly limited subject- the history of the carraige.
Some nice examples of arraiges and you really get a feel for how it would be to have travelled in this fashion by experiencing the Virtual Carraige ride towards the end of the exhibition.

It is a limited subject however and after 10 minutes you generally ahve the gist of the history.
There are 2 other floors with the top being dedicated to modern art- a little underwheming and the 1st floor renaissance - an improvement with the main room being the highlight.
At only 3 Euros it is worth a visit but will only engage for 45 minutes or so.

Great museum with old masters, Renaissance art, and a collection of carriages. Much bigger inside than it appears on the outside.
