Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s great to take a romantic walk. The sand is super fine and clean. There were no swimmers though along the whole coastline.
It was kind of strange as it’s a gorgeous beach as nice as any in Rio deJaneiro, but with no people.

Swimming is not allowed at the beach near Westin. The undercurrent is strong according to signages. There are restaurant mall. Driving along the coast northward brings you up a headland with a nice lookout point with platforms and fruits stalls. Further north are full of pseudo italian condominiums before arriving at beaches where swimming is allowed.

This is the place to come if you want a perfect blend of blue water, golden sand and shady coconut trees. It's not a big beach, difficult to get to without a car, and I'm not sure if there is anywhere to stay here. So I guess that limits the appeal to foreign visitors. Buy if you have a car, it's definitely worth a drive from sanya, you could have this beautiful place all to yourself (plus a handful of Chinese visitors).

Best water, long and gentle enough, a little island around 1.5 KM outside the beach, just like a private heaven.
But these is just two resorts at the north side of the beach; at the middle of the beach, there is a public service shower and towel, but the shower sometimes not work. on the south side of beach, there is a sailing club.
If you prefer a quiet vocation in hainan, out of full of hotel and visitors in sanya/yalong bay; shimei will be yr choice.

Basically, the access is through the Developer's Sales counter. There's a restaurant, which has the only opened bathroom.
We tried going in the water but the security guards pulled us out. The water was calmer than Riyue Bay. This beach serves two hotels and almost any other access is impossible. Nice place, but not very welcoming.

We went there on the third afternoon after the Typhoon. It was very hot and of course, not so many Chinese tourists. Nice and clean water, but the beach was quite a disappointment as there was a lot of trash lying around. Generally, it was OK, not so good as the first time I went in 2008.
We went there from Wanning city, which was not far from the bay. There is a direct bus from the new bus station in Wanning directly to the entrance of Le Meridien hotel. And about 300m's walk, you will see the vast ocean. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to jelly fish swimming in the shallow water. They are pretty, but don't touch them as you never know whether they have poison. They day we went this year, there were some young guys fishing on the huge rocks about 50m from the beach. The water was so shallow that you didn't even need to swim. Anyway, nice beach. Recommended.
