Marina Isla Canela is a Marina situated in the benchmark composed of "Costa de la Luz" the "Algarve" and the Guadiana River in the southwest Andalusian Corner. Exactly in the Carreras river mouth, inside the natural spot of Isla Canela. This situation offers an unbeatable cover against adverse meteo, giving a perfect shelter to all the boats in the Marina.

I would imagine in the height of summer the area would be very busy . Third week in October it was all closed up apart from one or two bars

A great place to watch the sunset, have a tape and a glass of local wine. Nice place to watch the world go by.

The marina has a number of 'chiringuitos' all offering excellent fish and seafood at very reasonable prices. Saturday and Sunday lunches are most enjoyable as the locals tend to eat out then creating more of a 'buzz' in the restaurants

Small, pretty marina. Ferry leaves here for Isla Christina. Some nice bars, restaurants & shops. As it was late in the season some were closed.

Very small and limited, able to get boat/ferry trips, has a nice ambience sitting and watching the world go by. Small supermarket and a few shops, very quiet in October, dead in fact!

Not many places open but I recommend the boat trip - takes an hour, you get wine and prawns - what is there not to love!

Local supermarket, good icecream parlour, few clothes shops and a bar with too much sport on tv. Five more minutes to marina full of yachts, one souvenir shop and several restaurants and two boat trip offices.

Not much going on but you can catch a land train that takes you around the area for a small fee. I think you can get a boat over to the other island but we didn't try this. I thought there was bike hire at...More
