Been here 3 times now, it never fails to disappoint. Beautiful beaches, quaint little town with a few shops and restaurants, and not too busy. Don't come if you want lots of nightlife. Do come if you want to get away from it all in...More

We drove to Palau then took the ferry to La Maddalena. It's easy to buy a ticket and hop on. Lovely small island.

Just a drop off about one hour with ferry and then a short drive thru island, in order to prepare a proper visit on season. Nice places, silent, warming. Have to be interesting archipelago tour and longer stay on island

We drove through the area in our car. It was gorgeous! We kept having to stop to take photos. Would recommend going on a trip around the island to see the scenery! We loved it!

I am visiting Northern Sardinia for a week in August with my boyfriend and we are keen to get over to La Maddalena and explore the island for ourselves by boat. I'm finding it difficult to find private hires, I was wondering whether anybody had done something similar or if joining a boat tour is the best way?
