-The site temporarily CLOSED FOR REMODELLING during 2017-

The habitats of many orchids are being slowly wiped out either by temperature change, forest clearing, or the elimination of insects that pollinate the flowers. Finca Dracula engages in expeditions to collect these native species. Finca Dracula is dedicated to promoting education, investigation, and conservation of orchids and other tropical ornamental plant species.

I'm glad we were able to see the Finca before they close down for remodeling and repairs. Our guide told us they are closing today December 31st, 2016 to do some needed remodeling and repairs. She said it will take about 1 year. This is the dry season and the best time they can get the most work done. She... More

2000 orchids and they are absolutely amazing. We had never seen dracula orchids and they were worth the trip. Like other reviewers have indicated, it is off the beaten track but worth making the trip. We did not have a guide so we made our own way through the orchid exhibit and gardens. Most enjoyable.

Finca Dracula is a bit off the beaten path (about an hour past Volcan) but well worth it. Definitely call ahead for reservations. Entrance fees are very reasonable and discount flies can be found in most of the inns in the area. Entry includes two tours, one of the orchid greenhouse and one of the rain forest gardens surrounding the... More

An absolutely wonderful little gem of a tour of a farm for hundreds of orchid species. The liittle tour was given by a charming young lady who really knew her stuff about orchids. It was pouring rain as I'm sure it often is there is the upper reaches of the beautiful region of Cerro Punta, an agricultural wonderland. (Thanks for... More

A nice drive away from David. The rental car had its work cut out for it for the last bit. Our guide was very knowledgable and made the tour fun. The property was charming and beautiful. The green house and labs were closed to the public but there were some sample beakers to show how orchids start from seeds and... More

Finca Dracula offers tours of the grounds and culminates in a tour of orchid greenhouse. The grounds are beautiful, lots of native and introduced plants, beautiful stream and ponds. The orchids were amazing. The tour was conducted by a knowledgeable employee who was able to describe the orchid growing process.

The only word to express my visit to Finca Dracula is WOW! This is a really spectacular place and they have done such a wonderful job in making a beautiful, tranquil, and educational environment. I have been to Cerro Punta several times and was waiting to visit until we had company in town. Im now seriously regretting that I did... More

We had heard that this place was amazing, but found it only okay. Maybe we were here at the wrong time of year, or maybe, since we chose not to have our $10 walk chaperoned by a guide, we missed a lot of the orchids. But we looked high and low, and saw barely a handful of rather "un-showy" blossoms.... More

We arrived at Finca Dracula, after parking the car, and walking the 10 minutes to the gate of the Finca, and then another 12 minute walk to the Finca itself. It is an easy walk for most people, but if you suffer a mobility issue, you may find the walk difficult. You can reach the Finca with a 4 wheel... More
