The Mac Arthur Landing Memorial park is also known as Leyte Landing Memorial Park or Mac Arthur Park to some (It is formerly known as Imelda Park) which is located at Palo, Leyte (Eastern part of Visayas) which is just near the Tacloban Airport. It commemorates the historic landing of General MacArthur in Leyte Gulf at the start of campaign... More

This is the historic site of General Douglas MacArthur's triumphant return to the Philippines in 1944. This park is beautiful and full of history with plenty of plaques explaining the meaning of the Macarthur tribute based on this Leyte Province location.

The bronze statues of General Macarthur and is landing crew are massive, imposing and impressive. The surrounding Park is a nice peaceful space to see the gardens and relax and reflect. Downside was some tourists wading out onto the memorial to have photos taken and self-esteem taken holding hands. It's a war memorial, just lime a person memorial. A grave,... More

Really liked the calm park. Not a must have, but good if you are in the area. The damagebof the typhoon is still visible, but the statues stand tall.

When we visited, there was a guy offering rifles, helmets and other props (for a small fee) to make your photo op with MacArthur’s bronze statue more interesting. Also in the town of Palo is the Republic... More

I am from Tacloban and I've been here quite often. This is usually where people go to after a morning jog. You can find small nipa-hut stores selling fresh buko juice. As it's a popular landmark, it badly needs improvement though. Needs tighter security to keep them outsiders trashing the place. There are a few hotels and some beach resorts you... More

my first time to visit the historical place, akala ko dati sila macathur nasa dagat mismo :) the move to higher para hindi masira sa malakas na wave. you buy souvenir items or pampasalubong in the park, mayroon den mga tindahan ng food incase nagugutom na kayo roaming around pwede rin kayo magpicnic under the tree if have time.
