Worth the drove

So we decided not to take a tour instead hired a buggy for 5 hours. If doing this as we did the main high wY is scary, but we made it also follow google maps, not signs as most are for scouters and the buggy doesn’t fit across the bridges! It’s only about 12 kms away but took us almost 2 hours due to long incorrect de tours ( silver lining saw some great scenery, and had a laugh)
Once we arrived paid small fee for parking, a couple of people there, a little old man showed us what to do then ended up being our guide, this was great as he took us deep inside the water cave beyond the ropes, we gave him 60 kip he was stalked! The cave was better than we expected cool refreshing and beautiful!

Non caves
Feb 2020 • Couples
Not sure if I have the right place...

Dont be fooled "non" cave doesnt mean it isnt a cave.

Visited here as part of a tour. I'm a bit hesitant about caves and what's in them so didnt particularly enjoy the experience. But there were no spiders or snakes or bats in this one so that makes it a good experience on the whole. You "tube" part of it, pulling yourself along the ropes and then a guide showed us the caves. Unfortunately his English was poor so our questions were answered with "you can google"...right. probably wouldn't go our of my way to see this, but if it's part of a tour then it's alright.

It was a fun thing to do
Jan 2020 • Solo
I enjoyed it and had a relaxing time tubing through the caves.

It’s not an absolute spectacular thing to do but was fun and refreshing.

I did it independently hired a motorbike and went myself it’s was extremely unorganised and no one there to show you or explain anything to you. I think they only care about tour companies to be honest.

Lucky a private tour guide that was showing 2 Germans around said come with us and he organised getting in tune etc. No staff approached me at all?

When you get on time with your helmet/light you pull yourself through the cave on ropes that are hooked up,

It’s simple and easy and any age group can do it, not an absolute must while in Vang Vieng but a nice fun experience.

Cost is about 20.000kip with entry, parking etc so fairly cheap.

Cool experience
Dec 2019 • Solo
I combined this with kayaking down the river. This was an excellent break from paddling. It was really cool to enter the cave on a tube. The cave itself is nothing overly special. The scenery kayaking down the river was fantastic!

You are never too old

We did the tubing at this cave in the low water season as part of a tour. As a result there were a couple of places we had to get out of our tube, walk across a shallow, low, rocky area and get back on the tube. You will be barefoot. It was fun going in and you get pretty wet so it was good it was hot. Coming out was very rushed and it's hard to keep the tube where you are looking forward. The ropes also change and bring you against the side of the cave. I was backward and did not realize this and hit the ceiling in a low area. Good thing they make you wear helmets. They changed me to a line further from the wall and all was well. A lot of fun.

Fun

Don’t come here unless you’re with a tour group because you will get ripped off, but isn’t that the case everywhere? Don’t be miser and pay for a tour, you’ll visit other places, make friends and have a better time. Fun experience, but it is what you make it - if you’re no fun then you’re not gonna have fun, simple!! :)

Very good

Just had an amazing day with Riverside tour company. We went to this cave in a group tour and had lunch at the caves. I can say that those places worth the travel. You can easily do them by bicycle. So take one day off and enjoy. I would recommend doing the caves first, as they are quick. And you can rest the rest of the day at the lagoon. Just be sure because there are many blue lagoons in Vang Vieng

Worth it
Aug 2019 • Couples
We visited Tham Nam Cave, Elephant Cave, Ziplining, Blue Lagoon 4 and kayaking with AK Tours. It was a fun day - a bit slow if you like more adventure. The ziplining was the highlight. The cave tubing was fun and the kayaking fine - but not long enough. Lunch was provided. Blue Lagoon 4 wasnt busy so we had it mainly to ourselves. Total cost $30US.
