Awesome Lagoon!

Just loved this place - the Laotions really know how to celebrate their natural made attractions!

Great for food, beer, and a swim with plenty of happy families!

Well after hiring a buggy and deciding not to do a tour, this was a wonderful reward 5000 kip each to enter and no one there refreshing and beautiful, amazing

Beautiful Spot
Jan 2020
Went out to this spot by buggy. Went early to beat the convoys of buggies heading out for the day. We were able to enjoy the beauty of the place and crystal clear water before the hoards arrived.

From the many lagoons we liked #5 best as it was the least crowded (unlike #3!) and you can relax in the clear water. The cave however is nothing spectacular.

Great spot

We took a buggy and toured the countryside to get there. Not the best of tracks, but worth the experience. Cheap entry fee, for the facility. It’s a fun spot. It was uncrowded and a pleasurable way to spend a couple of hours.

The best Blue Lagoon
Feb 2020 • Couples
A good hours drive out of the city. Would reccomend going by buggy as we tried on moped and it was very uncomfortable. Buggy was so much fun and worth the money though!! (Be prepared to get covered in dust though). Very relaxing and calm in comparison to other Lagoons. Theres a swing rope, small zip line, lots of rings and an inflatable raft. Spent about an hour here and loved it. It is in the shade as it's right by a massive hill though.

Stunning route there, pool itself underwhelming

I chose to cycle out from Vang Vieng. Its a 15-20km-ish ride, staring on sealed road for the first 7km or so then dirt track which gradually deteriorates the closer you get. Whilst a little testing on the backside, the poor road conditions make for a pretty quiet thoroughfare with stunning views on all sides. Unfortunately the destination itself didn't live up to the reviews I'd read... Arriving at around 12:30 the entire site was already in full shade from the adjacent peak and to be honest, didn't entice enough (viewed from the bike parking lot) to even bother to pay the entrance fee... The smallish, uniform pool with a few swings and a zip wire held little allure when in shadow. I decided instead to press on to Blue Lagoon 2, which in my opinion was much nicer in every way: several pools, great views around, in sunlight but with shade cover if desired, food options and generally more ambiance.

A long way from town.....

Probably an hour on a dirt track chased by ATVs to get to this lagoon. We didn’t spend much time there, the water wasn’t great. Lots of toys so depends what you want. Enjoy....

very blue and cold waters

lovely blue waters of the lagoon, at the foot of the rise to the caves. Very cold waters of the lagoon did not deter many revellers from jumping in from various levels or heights

Best of the Blue Lagoons
Dec 2019 • Couples
We cycled out to Lagoon 3 (20km each way) which was a bit of a mistake on our part as the majority of that was on severely bad dirt roads using good mountain bikes. Some great scenery on the way but was hardly worth the struggle. The lagoons orientation means it is sheltered from the sun pretty early in the day. After a swim and a swing into the water we trekked up into a small cave and viewpoint close to the lagoon (some parts very steep so need to be relatively fit). There is lifejackets available for rent and food/drinks available also. The 10k entrance fee was worth the admission and would probably return. Way better than Lagoon 1!
