To many this may seem like just an old bridge, but it's not as old as one may think. This bridge was build in 1968 and crosses over the Merced River on the west end of Yosemite Valley. If you are near, it is worth making a stop to see the flow of the river and may snap a picture.... More

I deliberated between average and very good for the rating for this stone bridge, but the construction really is unique and a reminder of an earlier time. I ended up coming down on the side of the higher rating, and on reflection believe that to be right.

This bridge is the sign that you have arrived or leaving the valley. While entering the valley if you see the bridge it is sign to look out for fern springs on the right. Also a sign to slow down a LOT. If you are leaving and see this bridge it is sign that you just passed valley view. You... More

This bridge like the others of this genre were hand built by master masons. Each stone is places exactly the right position and shaped to blend into a work of art. Being from Maine and having spent a lot of time at Arcadia national park where the bridges are huge and all different, I came away wiht a greater appreciation... More
